New York Times 'Outs' Lawyer Under Criminal Investigation For Fabricating FISA Documents To Spy On The Trump Campaign

Zero Hedge: NYT Names FBI "Resistance" Lawyer Under Criminal Investigation For Fabricating FISA Docs

The New York Times has revealed that the "low-level lawyer" under criminal investigation for allegedly doctoring materials used to obtain renewals of the Carter Page surveillance warrant is Kevin Clinesmith - who worked on both the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the Russia probe, was part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team, and interviewed Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos.

Clinesmith, a 37-year-old graduate of Georgetown Law, "took an email from an official at another federal agency that contained several factual assertions, then added material to the bottom that looked like another assertion from the email’s author, when it was instead his own understanding," according to the report.

WNU Editor: The leaks are already starting from the US Justice Inspector General's office, and I predict that there are going to be even more leaks in the coming days. As to this leak on FISA documents being fabricated/altered.  If it is true true you have to wonder if there was an orchestrated strategy to spy on the Trump campaign from President Obama's Justice Department?

Update: More leaks .... Inspector general's 'investigate the investigators' inquiry into Trump-Russia probe will NOT condemn James Comey and Peter Strzok, report claims—as FBI attorney facing criminal probe for 'altering email' is revealed to be anti-Trump texter (Daily Mail).

There are a lot of resignations from well paying jobs, a few firings, and no prosecutions yet. A large corporate entity prefers resignations especially for family reasons as it keeps the corporate image clean and absolves them of guilt of bad management or faithless execution of duties.

The NYT has already absolved its partisans of any guilty feelings by 'explaining' that the addition by the lawyer did change the fact that the FISA application would have gone through anyway. Or in other words it is not McCarthyism when we do it. It begs the question, if the application was that good, why did it need to be tweaked?

IMO this is SOP. The NYT has 'inoculated' its partisans to the bad news, so that they can hold their head high, fight back and keep winning.

Kevin Clinesmith looks like a real winner.
