Herald-Mail Media/Bloomberg: Kim Jong Un advances nuclear threat to US as Trump talks stall
It’s been about two years since Kim Jong Un launched a missile capable of hitting the entire U.S., declared his nuclear weapons program “complete” and halted all ICBM tests.
In that time, the North Korean leader has also become an even bigger threat to America.
Kim’s testing freeze ushered in unprecedented diplomacy with U.S. President Donald Trump, leading to historic meetings in Singapore, Vietnam and the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas. But at the same time, Kim has been busy churning out fissile material for bombs and developing new missile technology that could make the next big launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile even more concerning to Pentagon military planners.

WNU Editor: The North Koreans appear to be frustrated .... North Korea says it’s gained nothing from US but ‘betrayal’ (Military Times/AP). But everyone knew before hand that the process for Korean reconciliation and talks on what to do with North Korea's nuclear arsenal was going to take a long time. My concern is that President Trump's focus is elsewhere. Being faced with impeachment while Joe Biden and his family are given a media pass on the pressure they put on Ukraine and the millions that they received on what was obviously a quid-pro-quo arrangement must make President Trump livid. But that is where his attention is right now. There is also the US Presidential election next year, and the need to campaign for that. My advice to the North Koreans is that they will have to wait. As for everyone else outside of North Korea, expect a bigger NK nuclear arsenal than what they have now.
