The Queen has effectively sacked Prince Andrew from Royal duties after discussing the Epstein scandal with Charles and summoning the distraught Duke of York to Buckingham Palace to learn his fate.
The Monarch took decisive action to contain the fall-out from the duke's disastrous Newsnight interview about his friendship with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Last night the duke issued a statement confirming he was, with his mother's permission, 'stepping down' from public duties. He will lose his £249,000 annual income from the Sovereign Grant as a result.
The TV interview triggered days of catastrophic headlines and caused a string of businesses and charities to desert him.

WNU Editor: What a train wreck (i.e. Prince Andrew). I feel sorry for his mom, and for his victims.

IMO Prince Andrew is guilty. What he is guilty of is ephebophilia not pedophilia. There is a difference and it is a big one.
While I would blame Prince Andrew, I would blame society too. Why would Prince Andrew think it is okay or that he could get away with it. My answer is that he has seen or heard so many people get away and it is endemic in the culture. It doesn't just permeate the overall culture, but also specifically his strata.
The phone records of Deborah Jeane Palfrey and the court injunction against publishing them would lead someone like Prince Andrew to believe that everyone or most people do it and that he would be protected. Out of of Deborah Jeane Palfrey's black book 3 names came out. That is 3 names out of 10,000 to 15,000.
I use to believe that Bill Clinton's name would not come out, because Prince Andrew's name could not "come out". Both names are out there, but only one is really out there.
There is as much corruption in naming high profile johns as there is in prosecuting college admissions. Do I hate those Hollywood types paying their way into college? I do, positively green. But to single them out to get hammered in operation Varsity Blues is not right. I went to school with the son of the Rhode Island governor. To say that the height and weight standards were waived in his case is an understatement.
Hypocrisy is rife.
Frankly, I really think the Queen should have returned to her normal activities leaving a note for the late Donald Trump (not deceased of course) and wife telling them that their tardiness caused them to lose their opportunity to meet with her and wishing them better luck next trip.
