The Hill: Joint chiefs chair: Fewer than 1,000 troops will remain in Syria
Fewer than 1,000 U.S. troops will remain in Syria with a continued mission of defeating ISIS, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley said Sunday.
“The footprint will be small, but the objective will remain the same: the enduring defeat of ISIS,” Milley said in an interview on ABC's “This Week.”
ABC’s Martha Raddatz questioned Milley on the number of troops expected to stay in Syria, noting that American troops have remained in the region even as President Trump has said he wanted the 1,000 to leave.

Since Trump was sworn in, the ISIS governed land has shrunk to about zero sq. miles and Baghdadi was killed. Those are significant accomplishments that eluded Obama.
Iran is facing ever bigger problems keeping its empire together thanks to Trump. Popular revolts against Iran grows daily. It lacks the funds to insulate its population from food shortages. These are fine achievements.
Balanced against is the chaotic twitter policy statements.

Kurds have the oil, which means they have money to buy weapons, medicine, farm equipment, etc.
Do the Russians or Assad have those oil fields? No.
