Daily Caller: Foreign-Born Researchers At US Agencies Were Secretly Working For China And Recruiting Others, Senate Report Finds
* Foreign-born researchers working for U.S. agencies were secretly on China’s payroll, signing side agreements to send sensitive research to that country as part of a recruitment operation called the Thousand Talents Plan, a Senate report found.
* 10,000 Chinese nationals in 2018 conducted research in the Department of Energy’s National Labs, and one even had colleagues write him letters of recommendation to the Communist Party-run recruitment program, the bipartisan report stated.
* Agencies like NIH do not even track attempted foreign influence, the Department of State denies only 5% of suspicious visas, and the FBI shut down a key program, according to the report.
Foreign-born researchers working at U.S. agencies secretly joined China’s payroll, sending sensitive U.S.-funded research to the country while U.S. government agencies took almost no defensive measures against a major recruitment operation, a Senate investigation found.
Researchers linked to the Chinese government formed a Chinese cell within the Department of Energy, attained access to American genomic data, and recruited other U.S. researchers to join, the bipartisan report stated.

Why would a hostile or potentially hostile government want genomic data?
To tailor a bio weapons to selective strike a population?
A weapon could make the creators sick, but others dead perhaps based on the amount of gene expression.

Bureaucrats at American universities want an endless supply of foreign students and do want the FBI or DHS to even look at if some of these students are security risks.
I say we kill two birds with one stone. Create a labor and student shortage. Don't have so man H-1B visas and so many foreign students.
Let universities poach community colleges. Let community colleges scour the cities. Companies can go revive the trainee programs that they trashed in the 1980s.
Don't pull a liberal trick and send a person with low SAT scores straight to an ivy league school. Send them to a community college. And then keep training them. They'll end up at a university.
Universities are good at scrounging for students. During WW2 rather than have empty classrooms, universities went into FDR's death camps and rescued young Japanese-Americans from certain death and enrolled them in universities as far east as Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, they missed Takei and he grew up bitter, stupid, and liberal.
