With some of the tallest people in the world, an average Belgian man measures 5ft 10in but the internal cabin will hold no one above 5ft 7in.

Think of all the insurance money you could save ;)
You would have to assume that the Belgium defense people have 3D CAD/CAM/CAE unless they have slow adoption due to budget, security or insouciance of policy makers. There has to be a disconnect between the engineers and mid or upper level. Or maybe the upper level wanted what the wanted no matter what.
That shouldn't be a problem. It is Belgium after all.
