Former FBI And CIA Director William Webster Says President Trump And AG Barr Are A 'Dire Threat'

William Webster, New York Times: I Headed the F.B.I. and C.I.A. There’s a Dire Threat to the Country I Love.

The rule of law is the principle that protects every American from the abuse of monarchs, despots and tyrants.

The privilege of being the only American in our history to serve as the director of both the F.B.I. and the C.I.A. gives me a unique perspective and a responsibility to speak out about a dire threat to the rule of law in the country I love. Order protects liberty, and liberty protects order. Today, the integrity of the institutions that protect our civil order is, tragically, under assault from too many people whose job it should be to protect them.

The rule of law is the bedrock of American democracy, the principle that protects every American from the abuse of monarchs, despots and tyrants. Every American should demand that our leaders put the rule of law above politics.

I am deeply disturbed by the assertion of President Trump that our “current director” — as he refers to the man he selected for the job of running the F.B.I. — cannot fix what the president calls a broken agency. The 10-year term given to all directors following J. Edgar Hoover’s 48-year tenure was created to provide independence for the director and for the bureau. The president’s thinly veiled suggestion that the director, Christopher Wray, like his banished predecessor, James Comey, could be on the chopping block, disturbs me greatly. The independence of both the F.B.I. and its director is critical and should be fiercely protected by each branch of government.

WNU Editor: No mention from the former FBI and CIA director on the FBI and Justice Department shocking abuse as outlined by Inspector General Horowitz's. And his claims that "the F.B.I. is not a broken institution" do not reassure me, especially in view of what they have done. As to his denunciation of the Attorney General who wants to get to the bottom of this corruption and to hold people accountable .... what a disappointment.

Editor that’s because you believe in the deep state and conspiracy theories of the far right and not in the AG findings that procedural mistakes were made by different teams. It would be a far different cry if nobody investigated the Russian meddling in American elections and the potential of a person running for high office gardening help from a foreign power. What would you and everyone be saying then? That they did not do their job.

I read the IG report. Those were not procedural mistakes. They were done on purpose and with a criminal intent. And that report only involves one FISA applications. My God! You have to wonder what else is out there.

So there is this guy called Kevin Clinesmith. He worked for the federal government.

So what do we know about this lawyer dude?

Well this dude as a federal employee was required to take cybersecurity training once a year.

What does cyber security consists of?

Well for on the thing the concept of non-repudiation.

"Nonrepudiation is the assurance that someone cannot deny something. Typically, nonrepudiation refers to the ability to ensure that a party to a contract or a communication cannot deny the authenticity of their signature on a document or the sending of a message that they originated."

"That biographical fact never made it into any affidavit. In 2017, the CIA sent an email to the FBI restating that Mr. Page had been an asset. Mr. Clinesmith, who is not named in the inspector general’s report, altered the email to say Mr. Page was not an asset."

Now, if you change what an email states are you not violating the principle of nonrepudiation?

Would that not make Esquire Kevin Klinesmith a mother fucker?

I saw that interview anonymous. That was a joke. And everybody at the conference knew it was a joke. He then goes on to tell you why these people are coming up and speaking out. “This is the institution committed to objectivity and telling the truth.” He goes on a little bit more about this institution. You should watch the conference video for yourself. You might learn something if you can learn.

He does not state in the report that they were done on purpose and with criminal intent. The exact opposite in fact. What you are stating is your opinion, not what was said in the report.

95 year old Webster is real credible. Joe Biden might actually be able to beat Webster in an IQ test.

With a hefty handicap of course.

No, but smart people can analyze the data: ~40 mistakes all going against Trump - dah!

It's so easy, you'd have to be blind to see otherwise. Simple statistical analysis proves deception.
