BBC: Mali conflict: Macron says 33 'terrorists' killed by French troops
French forces have killed 33 militants in an operation in Mali, according to President Emmanuel Macron.
Mr Macron made the announcement on a visit to Ivory Coast, where he reiterated France's commitment to fighting jihadists in the region.
It comes weeks after 13 French troops died in a helicopter collision in Mali in the biggest single-day loss of life for its military since the 1980s.
Thousands of French troops have been deployed in Mali since 2013.
Its involvement came after Islamist militants overran parts of the north. With the help of France, Mali's army has recaptured the territory, but insecurity continues and violence has spread to neighbouring countries.

This is Obama's fault.
When Boko Haram kidnapped the 270 female teenage students from school he did nothing.
I'm sorry, he did something. He delegated the response to the kidnapping to Michelle Obama and she let loose a blistering Hashtag campaign. And after the termination of the vicious Hashtag campaign "Bring Back Our Girls", the girls were free!
Actually not. Many of the girls freed themselves. Michelle Obama did not even meet them.
But at least her husband was a little more effective than Michelle. He embargoed military weapons to Nigeria. They had a Christian president and were fighting Islamic extremists, so Nigeria had it coming. Does Barack believe "a jihadi is a terrible thing to waste?"
Obama also did not run down Kony. Just about the time Kony was run to ground, Obama conveniently gave up the chase. The excuse was that African nations were not doing enough and that he did not have a SOFA. Where have we heard the last excuse before?
I agree, Africans have to do more ... more heavy lifting. The thing is you don't start off the proverbial 90 pound weakling with a 400 pound bench press.
Of course Nigerian Presidents Jonathan Goodluck and his successor wanted to do more heavy lifting and Obama stiffed them.
We would still have had Libya and Mali, but the rest of it would have been smaller and more manageable by African governments, if Obama had not supported Boko Haram and Kony by omission of help to African countries.
Of course Libya and Mali were Obama's fault too. Mali was a direct result of Libya and Obama broke Libya. Gaddafi might have lost, but there was an even chance he would have won. If Gaddafi had won, the armories of Libya would not have been open to Islamic terrorists throughout Africa.

Macron would've been smart to ally with Trump against the Islamicist threat in Africa. Instead he sided with Putin's sickly daschund and Mr. Blackface. If he had allied effectively to or 3 years ago, he would have more time to have considered better economic measures.
So does all this mean you aren't going to vote for Obama in the upcoming election?
Obama was a political hack and never should have become President.
G W Bush was a down and out war criminal and should have never become President.
Trump is an obnoxious self aggrandizing fool, improving his financial status at the expense of the people and should never have become President.
And yet again Bob proves that he does not know international law.
I've met many obnoxious pilots and yet they do their job well and provide value to their customers. IMO the obnoxious pilots were 'all elbows' to an extent so as to not get squished in a competitive world. I see Trump ion the same mold. Also I met many a New Yorker and Trump fits right in. You on the other hand provide no value and you are obnoxious.
The people are doing well. Hispanics and Blacks are backing in Trump in numbers that Republicans have not seen since the middle of last century. Certainly the unemployment numbers are lower. SO it is obviously not at the expense of the people. Polls and employment statistics mean something even if a poor bloke like yourself cannot make heads or tails of them.
