Anx a great opportunity to test the population control measures.

Who precisely did not follow new year's ban?

If the recent speculation that this virus has escaped from a bio weapons lab is accurate, I would think Xi is toast.
Depending on the severity, the impact of this situation on the economies of the world would likely make one wish he/she had shorted their stock market or at least bailed out last week.

No, Roger. That is not the source of the virus. It may have started with a bat in a cave, but human activity set it loose. The author of this piece is highly regarded.

When have the Chinese (a certain segment anyway) not eaten bats? They have been eating bats for generations. So why now?

Also, it is very hard to find anywhere in China not regularly visited by man.

There were reports in the 1990's of the rich in the US eating exotic animals. It is for the novelty, to set themselves apart, and to display their wealth. If they ate bat in The Hamptons, it would not surprise me.

dear mr or miss anon
the topic is Coronavirus, how such things come about and how they might be combatted is all related in a general way and surely more so than in the dumping of name calling or anti liberal tirades...if you have complaints, then take them to the editor

I doubt the patriot of the Democrat party actually read the article. I do not doubt that the Democrat zealot knows anything about food safety. Maybe the nutter ought to tour a facility or three.

Kind of intersting how Lie-a-watha the Great White Indian Princess with blonde hair and blue eyes put out a tweet about the Corona Virus and how bad Trump is and the leftwinger posts about food safety (Dated June 22 20188 article).

https://twitter.com/ewarren/status/1222157562562383872?

"Trump wants to reshape the US food safety system. The idea is great, and terrible."

https://qz.com/1312336/trumps-proposal-to-take-food-safety-regulation-away-from-the-fda-is-both-a-great-idea-and-a-terrible-idea/

"This week, president Donald Trump released a plan (pdf) that would bring the nation’s sprawling food safety forces under the watch of a single agency.

The idea has been tossed around by public health groups and federal offices for years. The Government Accountability Office, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and the Center for Science in the Public Interest (pdf) have all released reports advocating for one, unified food safety agency."

Senator Pocahantas' tireade was about since the US are out of the Paris Global Warming accord, we are less safe. Well, China is a signatory. How did it help them.

Let's just face it. Liberals are perfect as extras for TWD. Most do not even need make-up.
