The car looks more molten than exploded. Was some high heat low yield device used for that special going to hell feeling? Other than that a very unspectacular end to such a legendary figure in the Iranian world; he got the standard "droned you in your car" finish.
Giving who he was I would not be surprised if he had failsafe plans that jump into action on his death. He likely prepared 2-3 options for the Iranian leader to pick from. The typical plans would include airplanes,boats,very good penetrating bombs, explosives,assassinations,hostage taking and public executions etc etc
