Press Coverage From Iranian News On Tonight's Missile Attacks Against US Forces In Iraq

Tasnim News Agency: Iran Hits US Base in Iraq in Retaliation Attacks after US Killing of Gen. Soleimani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday targeted the US airbase of Ain al-Assad in Anbar province in western Iraq.

The attack on the US major air base in Iraq came after Iran pledged to retaliate the US assassination of top Iranian anti-terror commander, Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

“Tens of surface-to-surface missiles” were fired at the strategic airbase but the exact number is now known now.

The attack was later confirmed by the US officials.

The IRGC added that it would release more details about the strike.

The strike comes as no surprise since Iran had vowed to take a “harsh revenge”.

15 missiles fired from Iran. 10 hit around Al Assad. one missed and four failed. No US casualties reported as yet. Deliberate miss on Iran's part, "Face saving" is the word being bantered about.

I guess Iran gets to keep their refineries for now.

Here comes the obese expert who thinks his decision on refineries matter and will help trump decide
Gee golly, you must be on some real good opiates

Typical of Iran, Bring it right up to the the brink, then back down.

All you WWIII shriekers can calm down now.

...and as I predicted earlier. The Iranian "retaliation" would be mild to meddlesome.

The fact there was no U. S loss of life is irrelevant, they were warned not to retaliate and they did. Say goodbye to the headquarters of the aerospace guards Corp.

Do You think this could escalate? What does history could tell us about it? Is Iran strong enough to endure the response of these brief attacks?

RussInSoCal said...

Escalate? You bet. It depends on what Iran does next. EG: Any Iranian piracy in the Persian Gulf should see a quick death to the Iranian navy.

Do you remember 4 years ago when the US went back to Iraq to fight ISIS and the Iranians threatened to kill our people?

We were sick of the threats.

They did kill some of our people.

But now we have Trump and not the versatile Obama.

After years and years of threats, decades of threats, decades of murders,. we are happy that a kingpin like General Salmonella was taken down and not some night janitor like Obama or Clinton would have done.

If our people get killed at Al Asad 10 to 1 won't be enough. We'll have to go at least 100 to 1.

And you must be tripping kid. Just like anyone who expected ww3 over the killing of old sulemon ("man of peace" lol) instead of a continued light proxy war in Iraq. Iran gave notice of its intentions to strike military targets and we so prepared. At this time no casualties have been reported, and you better bet the mullahs will be shitting themselves if even one (1) is, because that will precipitate further escalation. Just read the blog and learn a little about geopolitics.

Dear Antitroll the stupid,

The opioid crises is strongly linked to the rust belt and the death of many car manufacturing jobs. Russ does not live in the Rust Belt. So odds are better than average that he is not opn opioids.

Also he lives in California and people there are not as obese as elsewhere in the US. So again the odds are against your depiction.

"California's obesity rate is lower than that of most other states"
