Taiwan Presidential Election: Tsai Ing-wen Re-Elected In A Landslide For President

Daily Mail: Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen celebrates winning second term with landslide victory as voters show strong support for her tough stance on China

* Tsai Ing-wen took 57.2 per cent of the vote to soundly defeat her two challengers

Taiwan's independence-leaning president Tsai Ing-wen has won a second term in office with a landslide victory, signalling strong voter support for her tough stance against China.

Ms Tsai took 57.2 per cent of the vote to soundly defeat two challengers, Han Kuo-yu of the rival Nationalist Party and James Soong of the smaller People First Party.

I have always felt that democracy would be better served if when very close elections occurred a monitoring process were to kick in to ensure that a country's laws and very tenents of incorporation are preserved. I imagine that was part of the thought process when, in the case of the USA, the Supreme Court was envisaged. In that case, had the founders imagined a time when a controlled party structure would come into existence they might have made the Supreme Court a proactive entity rather than reactive.

Only when there is a close election are there problems with vote fraud or corruption.
Give it a rest bunkum.

You do realize that Thomas Jefferson and others were founders and also belonged to political parties. Maybe you should read what they said in toto instead of carping like Obama or the Notorious RBG about how bad the constitution is.

Michael Medved is fond of saying "Vote for Most Conservative Candidate Who Can Win"

What does BH stand for? Anti-Americanism for one things. Anything else? We can't tell because BH speaks in high minded generalities and will not get pinned down for what he believes in or what the best candidate might be.

Which leads me to conclude that BH is a fuckwit.
