Tensions Among U.S. Democrat Presidential Candidates Escalate

CNN: Exclusive: Warren accused Sanders in tense post-debate exchange of calling her a 'liar' on national TV

In a tense and dramatic exchange in the moments after the Democratic debate Tuesday night, Elizabeth Warren accused Bernie Sanders of calling her a liar on national television.

Sanders responded that it was Warren who called him a liar and said they should not talk about it right then.

When the CNN/Des Moines Register debate concluded, the studio audience and viewers saw Warren walk over to Sanders and not shake his outstretched hand. The two senators seemed to have a heated and brief exchange before Sanders appeared to throw his hands up, turn and walk away. The video of the exchange aired live with no audio.

But sound of the moment was caught by CNN's microphones and found Wednesday.

Update #2: Sanders-Warren Clash on Women Elevates Acrimony in Iowa Debate (Bloomberg)

WNU Editor: I have been following Senator Bernie Sanders since his unsuccessful Presidential primary challenge in 2016. I have trouble believing he would say that a woman could not win a Presidential election, especially in view of his past public and favourable comments on women in politics. In the case of Senator Elizabeth Warren, she has lied and/or exaggerated certain thing about her past. So when I look at the two and I had to make a choice, her accusations against Senator Sanders just do not ring true.

It is my prediction and hope that this election is the catalyst that destroys the US Democrat Party. There's no other entity in the country that needs dismantling more. It is very possible that no matter who is nominated, it will alienate 40% of the base. Causing a violent split/civil war.

If Biden is nominated, the rabid progressives will revolt. Urban Alt-Left will go berserk. Some have even stated their intent to kill police, imprison citizens and "burn down Milwaukee".

If Sanders is the nominee, the few remaining moderate Dems and most Independents will flee in terror. As will the the establishment Democrat fundraising machinery in NYC.

The Dems are looking pretty ripe right now.

They're a splintered bunch. None impress. Not seriously.

During the last election's nomination run-up, although she was not in that running Warren held a strong presence in the background and withheld her support until the DNC had dealt with Bernie. Had she put her support behind him and even if Bernie had still lost to Clinton it is possible that, for better or for worse, Trump would not be President now.

I concur.

Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz resigned on July 28, 2016 (due to the primary election being fixed) ahead of the Democrat Party convention. With the fix in, Warren could not have helped Bernie or Hillary.

You sir are smoking hokum.

But as 1:30 PM pointed out, dream on troll.

Whether she could have affected it or not her demeanor during the events suggested she was compromised.

And Bob Huntley trolls on.

Bob asserts things by putting them out on the table, but has caveats (weasel words) like 'whether' and 'suggested'.

What proof does Bob have? None. Bob does not even posit a skeleton in the closet or a vice.

PS: Bob obviously knows whether a candidate or their platform will resonate and thus, if they have a chance. Bob should call the Bernie or Liawatha campaign right now and tell them that they need to hire him as a strategist.

Personally, Bob should really go with Lie-a-watha's campaign, since she lies more and he would feel right at home.

The shitter has such insights.
