* President Volodymyr Zelensky said there were no survivors among the 168 passengers and nine crew
* Ukraine's foreign ministry revealed there were 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians and three Britons on flight PS752
* Iran said the engine had caught fire and video appeared to show the plane already on fire as it fell from the sky
* Ukrainian embassy in Iran initially said the crash had been caused by an engine failure but retracted the claim
* The plane was less than four years old and had been checked just two days earlier, the Ukrainian airline said
* It crashed hours after Iran attacked US bases in Iraq in retaliation for the killing of Qassem Soleimani

Iran has blamed technical failure and an engine fire for a plane crash which killed 177 people near Tehran today, but is refusing to hand over the recovered black boxes to Boeing or the US.

The Boeing 737 jet came down just minutes after take-off from Imam Khomeini International Airport early this morning, hours after Iran launched missile strikes on US bases in Iraq in revenge for Qassem Solemani's death.

Three Britons and 63 Canadians were among the 168 passengers and nine crew on board the Ukrainian International Airlines flight to Kyiv. There were no survivors.

Iran is blaming 'technical difficulties' and says the pilot lost control after a fire struck one of the plane's engines, but said the crew had not reported an emergency and is refusing to say what will happen to the black boxes.

Video footage appeared to show the plane already burning in the night sky before it crashed, while pictures at the crash site showed the fuselage peppered with holes.

Ouch - Pray for the victims. If this is indeed a shot down plane, you can blame it on Iran's heated outrage for America and their immoral character.

The BB's are usually made by honeywell. They can be read by other companies and countries. Not just the US. If iran is not making them available it's because they are guilty.

The Iranians can be petulant, self-serving and dishonest. That is okay if the don't give the BB's to Boeing, but at least give to an international body like the UN to investigate why the plane exploded.

It could very well be the cause was the fog of war although Tehran is very far from Iraq. But how can you use it when you denied the Vincennnes that? At least the Vincennes was in a place where Iranian and American small craft were going at it.

Now if the US hadn't killed that General perhaps this plane with 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians and 3 Britons would likely have reached its destination.

Given history and the circumstances if it turns out that plane had been "shot" down, or, otherwise sabotaged, it could have been anybody that did the deed for any number of reasons.

The first casualty of war being truth that is.

Caught red handed, the troll Bob Huntley is left with nothing but reaching down into the mud and muddying the waters.

Bob you know you are an utter piece of shit.

What I've seen, heard and read this plane was deliberately shot down.

And shooting this airplane down, with it's seemingly innocuous passenger list and corporate owner, accomplished what?
