DW: Germany, world leaders react after Iran admits downing plane by 'mistake'
Ukraine's President Zelenskiy demanded Iran pay compensation and a full investigation over the downing of the Ukrainian passenger jet, while Germany called for measures to prevent such a disaster in the future.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Saturday said Ukraine expected a full investigation and compensation from Iran, after Tehran said it "unintentionally" shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet, killing all 176 people board.
After mounting international pressure, Iran earlier on Saturday voiced regret over firing at the passenger plane in "error" amid heightened US tensions.
Iran had initially denied bringing down the aircraft.

A Newfie moved to Toronto believing he could become wealthy once he left the island. It didn't work out but like many before him he bragged to his friends and relatives back home that he was doing great and was friends with lots of important people etc.
A couple of his buddies made a surprise visit so he took them to a very expensive restaurant for supper. Justin Trudeau got up from his table and headed for the can. The Newfie went right away to the can and while standing beside Trudeau at the urinals told Trudeau about his plight and now two buddies came up to see if what he bragged about was true. He asked Trudeau it would help if he would just say hello to him when he came out of the can and he told him his name.
When walking by the table, Trudeau went out of his way to accommodate the guy, put his hand on his shoulder and said "Good to see you again Anon". At that point Anon said, "piss off Trudeau, can't you see I'm talking to my friends?".
Couple of things I noticed about the anti regime protests.
1). No signs in English. So they weren’t just playing for the cameras,
2). No signs at all. Not sure what that means.
3). Women in the crowd. Not normal in Islamic countries.
Very good observations. Did you get an idea of average age of the crowd, of the women?
