The Intercept: Trump White House Weighing Plans for Private Spies to Counter “Deep State” Enemies

The Trump administration is considering a set of proposals developed by Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a retired CIA officer — with assistance from Oliver North, a key figure in the Iran-Contra scandal — to provide CIA Director Mike Pompeo and the White House with a global, private spy network that would circumvent official U.S. intelligence agencies, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials and others familiar with the proposals. The sources say the plans have been pitched to the White House as a means of countering “deep state” enemies in the intelligence community seeking to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency.

The creation of such a program raises the possibility that the effort would be used to create an intelligence apparatus to justify the Trump administration’s political agenda.

WNU Editor: Erik Prince has proposed a lot of ideas to the White House. From privatizing the war in Afghanistan .... Will President Trump Support Erik Prince's Plan To Privatize The War In Afghanistan?, to sending mercenaries to Syria .... Are Western Mercenaries Heading To Syria? This private spy network is probably another one of his ideas. As to what is my take on a global private spy network .... I say for get about it. Focus on the present US intelligence community, put the people you trust in positions of authority, demote and/or fire those who have actively opposed your mandate. You do not need to create another spy network. You already have one with a $70 billion a year budget, warts and all.

I don't think Trump will do this. But he will easily convince the people he wants to influence think that he will. - i.e: Pelosi Schumer Schiff, Nadler, et al.

And those people and their minions will swim eagerly into the next/newest Trump gillnet of the stupid.

Sending mercenaries to Syria would be a bad idea IMO. As would privatizing the war in Afghanistan.

Talking about have another security network is good. Brennan and shit company need to be called on their crap.

Actually doing and duplicating effort, while the CIA is shit about now, it may be a very bad idea.

Why are we here? Because Brennan is shit and played politics. Not only did he play politics, but he was not good at his day job.

Looks like the other agencies are fulfilling Democrat agenda. Would be about time the home team gets some representation. Even if just long enough to strangle the deep state.

those who know so little about how our intel works etc always the first to comment on it...not to say they are always good, but the shit remarks indicate a lack of knowledge

I think having the discussion is good, don’t think it will go anywhere but puts some heat on the intel community to keep the bias out of their work.

More confused thinking and another defective definition.
