Paul Bedard, Washington Examiner: Bigger than Vindman: Trump scrubs 70 Obama holdovers from NSC
President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council.

My gut feeling. He had to wait until after the impeachment circus was over. It gives much more gravitas doing it now.
If done before. We would have had Vindman x70.
Timing is everything.

There are two schools of thought on management, which are mutually exclusive. One is that you have to grow up in an industry to manage well. The other is if you are a good manager, you can manager any company.
It is almost as if the underlings have solved this argument over schools of management and have come down for the former. They will sack any boss that does not conform to their advice and special knowledge. The tail is wagging the dog. Or trying to.
I sympathize with Vindman being a Cold Warrior and hating the Russkis, but he was way over his paygrade and was sacked as he should have been.
Agreed, had they removed them the conspiracy theories would have raised the roof. Politics suck!
