This Is How Low A Marine Squadron Commander Flying A F/A-18 Jet Will Need To Fly To Cost Him His Job

Task & Purpose/San Diego Union Tribune: Watch the F/A-18 flyover that cost a Marine squadron commander his job

A video obtained by the San Diego Union-Tribune shows the Jan. 23 flyover of an F/A-18D at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. That flight cost a squadron commander his job.

This commander must be incredibly disliked or have had enemies already gunning for him.

Lame

They fly low near MCAS Miramar all the time, the best is during air show week and they buzz the 163 highway during their prep. It is a good time with the windows down on the way home in rush hour traffic. Really gets the blood flowing when they are getting it.

I run outdoors when the Marines are practicing touch and goes in their cargo planes. They come right over my place at times and quite low. I'd guess 1000 or less feet.

No whines from this veteran.
