A pair of House Democrats on Thursday launched an investigation into alleged efforts by the FBI and National Institutes of Health (NIH) to scrutinize ethnically Chinese scientists for potential espionage.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who chairs the House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Chairwoman Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) sent letters demanding documents about the two agencies' investigations into whether Chinese Americans were working as spies on behalf of China.
While the two lawmakers acknowledged that there have been some confirmed cases of espionage, they questioned whether the focus on Chinese Americans amounted to racial profiling.

WNU Editor: American lawmakers, tech companies, holders of patents/copy-writes/etc., have been screaming for years that US law-enforcement must clamp down on China's theft of American intellectual property. They are now doing it, and even FBI Director Wray has recently admitted that the FBI is currently conducting 1,000 investigations. Are they overdoing it? Maybe. Are these lawmakers justified in their probe on what the FBI is doing? Probably. But this is the price to pay if you want to be serious in stopping this theft.

If the Chinese are stealing tech secrets, would they not still be trying to influence the presidential election like they did in the 1990s?
Why are Democrats only talking about Russian election interference and not Chinese election interference?
1) Dems & their media axis partners are trying to affect the election via innuendo.
2) The Dems are setting up an excuse for when they lose. It is not looking good now.
3) Many Dems are bought and paid for with Chinese money.
The Democrats are looking into this? Surely only to cover their tracks. The Democrats been selling out the US for decades. Didn't Feinstein even have a chinese spy as driver?my recommendation is to stop the visa program and remove most Chinese nationals from any sensitive position. You can be 90% sure they either are spying already or will be spying for homeland China in the future. And it does not have to be spying for the party. among Chinese there is a very developed entitlement to spy on your neighbours, spy on businesses, steal code and send it home to friends etc etc it is a bit in their culture really ..just check out how crazy they are on spy cams even for private use. Worse than even Americans :) the US has found a hefty adversary in the Chinese. One that will not back done. One that for decades has grown accustomed to the idea of overtaking the US and securing their rightful place as number one in the world. And they know they have the numbers. And they know that for money Americans and Chinese do everything. They understand how to use capitalism against us all. They understand how and when to ignore law. A very corrupt, talented people. I'd recommend to take this threat more seriously still than you're beginning to grasp. I've lived in china many years, it is beyond what you understand /be able to realise unless you've seen it and the scale at which it happens. And the ruthlessness. They are completely blasé about legal matters.
