Widely Distributed Video Shows An American Military Convoy Running A Russian Military Vehicle Off The Road In Syria

Warzone/The Drive: Crazy Video Emerges Of American And Russian Armored Vehicle Road Rage Incident In Syria

Although altercations involving U.S. and Russian forces have seen a spike in recent weeks, duking it out on a highway is something new.

Details about the incident are still limited, but a video has emerged online showing a U.S. military M-ATV mine-resistant vehicle running a Russian Tigr armored utility vehicle off the road somewhere in northeastern Syria. The incident reportedly occurred relatively close to where American troops found themselves in a standoff a mob of civilians and militiamen aligned with Syrian dictator Bashar Al Assad a week ago. Russian forces were also present during that altercation, which ultimately left at least one Syrian dead.

A camera inside what appears to be a civilian vehicle also traveling along the same stretch of road captured the incident, which reportedly took place near the town of Qamishli, which is also near the Turkish border. It is unclear when exactly the events in the video actually occurred.

WNU Editor: The U.S. military has said that they are going to investigate this incident .... CENTCOM reviewing road clash incident between U.S. and Russian forces in Syria (Military Times). Others are saying that this sends a strong message .... Forcing Russian vehicle off Syrian road, US military sends a strong message (Tom Rogan, Washington Examiner). My take is different. This could have been a disaster. The U.S. military vehicles were moving very slowly on the highway. Probably deliberately because the Russian vehicles were behind them. One of the Russian drivers does what anyone would do on a highway when someone is slow in front of them, they try to pass them. This was not to be in this case, hence the incident. People could have easily been killed, as witnessed by a Syrian who quickly jumped away at the last second when both vehicles were barrelling towards him. The smaller Russian military vehicle could have also flipped over, and if that happened I could only imagine what would have happened after that. Russian Special Forces, like U.S. Special Forces, do not like to be pushed around, and they will retaliate thereby setting the stage for a serious escalation and God only knows what.

All of these close proximity maneuvers in the air and water against the US assets and no one bats an eye. Slam the door shut once on a Syrian highway and the whole world loses their minds!

(Batman quote, did I do it right?)

Normal convoy operations. You do not let a moving vehicle get beside or among the convoy.

1. Normal operations is to wave off a vehicle with hand signals.
2. Then firing a flare.
3. Then "firing across the bow" in front of the oncoming vehicle.
4. Then they get lit up if they ignored steps 1, 2, or 3.

The US ran convoy operations in Iraq form 2003 for several years. They have been running convoys in Afghanistan since 2001.

Besides economic and technical espionage does not the KGB's replacement steal military field manuals?

Maybe they have gotten sloppy and Putin let them get that way. Maybe Putin should resign, because he does not run a tight ship.

Maybe the Russian do not American convoy operations and we messing with them. Trying to provoke something.

If ISIS can get Afghan army and Syrian army uniforms and vehicles, might they get some Russian uniform and vehicles and try a VBIED hit on an American convoy?

The Russian driver and his unit commander should be court marshaled!

I agree with WNU, this one was a bit unnecessary.. sure, I get the US point of view that the Russians are driving like crazy (and flying like crazy, and boating like crazy and almost always on collision courses), but this one could have ended very badly/the escalation was not necessary.. but I get their side.. it's freaking frustrating to deal with Russians in a professional manner.. nearly impossible.

Russians despise professionalism when it comes to regulation, safe work behavior, punctuality, cordiality, etc. etc.. it's like putting a wild animal into a cage and telling it to wear a tie.. not gonna happen

But sooner or later we will see a terrible escalation and the Russians will not back down early. They still have an open ticket of about 200 russians being killed in the early months of the Trump administration (when they tried to run over a US base ffs, it was the largest post-cold-war incident and got like 2min news coverage AT BEST.. so many US ANALysts and talkers on the cable news show do not understand this.. they will just keep pushing the narrative "oh fuck those russians and their lack of professionalism", not understanding the mentality underneath and some of the anger/open bill they still think about.. and this talkshow host talk of course is picked up by the soldiers (they ofc know more, but still.. this cable news mentality is also pushing us at the edge.. every idiot gets to talk)

The Russians do this sort of thing all the time in the air and in water. No surprise much they tried with Green Berets and almost lost their lives.

This I do not know and will not believe until i see it form myself or get it from a trusted, non-anonymous source.

In the past the Soviets used to have Officers do what in the US E5's would do. I do not know if that is still the case. That was either an indictment on the Soviet educational system, communist paranoia. I know for damn sure that ethnic Russians and Ukrainians do well when the come to the US in universities. Moral of the story is the communism is not a good system. Still to many people are doing hits and 12 oz. curls in preparation for voting whatever or whomever has a (D) behind it in November.

PS: I intend to run my pet, Incitatus, on the Democrat ticket for Senator. I'll be the campaign treasurer and will take care of the finances of course.

I think I would have let them go in case there was a mine somewhere up the road just waiting. Perhaps next time there will be.

Very flatulent there Bob. I see you do not know the various tactics for employing VBIEDs, or IEDs.

Very, very flatulent of you, when you know jack.

IOW classic Bob.

"asshole" - Retort by pea brain

You have to wonder, if pea brain caught the reference and therefore the meaning.

You'all miss one crucial point: The US military is in Syria ILLEGALLY!!!! We're the invaders while the Russian military is there by invitation. Any incident like this could easily escalate into something that neither side could control. We ought to get our asses out of there before that happens.

Holding sham elections and imprisoning thousands of Sunni makes you a legitimate ruler?

Do we usually consider elections by dictators valid?

If you do, please defend it.

You might want to raise that issue if Trump wins in November.

I asked

What ballot box is Trump or the Russians going to stuff?

Bob refused to answer, but side-stepped and insincerely asked
