CNN: Esper says military 'can't meet everybody's needs' as coronavirus outbreak escalates
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said Monday that he has received requests for assistance from multiple governors and stated the military "can't meet everybody's needs," as the coronavirus pandemic continues to escalate.
However, he did say that the Pentagon is looking to send military field hospitals to New York and Seattle to help support local medical systems which are struggling to cope with a large number of virus cases. That would be in addition to the hospital ships being sent to New York and Los Angeles and the military working to convert civilian buildings into hospitals.
"I've spoken with seven, eight, nine, 10 governors so far. Each one of them has had requests for field hospitals. Those who have been along the coastline have talked about the need for ships, so we clearly can't meet everybody's needs with what we have in our inventory so we rely on (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) to do the assessment, validation and then the prioritization," Esper said.

The US Military is not responding well. They sit quietly-by, while congress critters tax and spend the country into oblivion.
The Chinese have a saying "Rich country; Strong Defense"
The Pentagon will wargame trade wars and other war scenarios. But will they tell us what will happen to the defense of the country is Miss Nancy has her way and Makes America Broke Again?
Funds for the Kennedy Center
"Yes, the Democrats' coronavirus emergency spending bill includes $35 million earmarked for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Why should the Kennedy Center receive this money, instead of all the other theaters across America? Why does theater feature in the coronavirus bill?" - PJM
The people who attend events at the center are filthy rich. Why can't they fund their own center?
I have 8 theaters within 10 miles of my domicile. Why weren't they included in the Corona Virus Bill looting by Miss Nancy? Because Pelousy does not rub elbows with anyone there.
You would think the top 1% could fund their Kennedy Center without extracting ever more money from the American worker.
You would think that colonels and generals would see this profligate spending wrecks any America war effort in a wargame simulation. But they sit quiet as church mice.
