* 13 countries have shut schools, with nine others introducing localised closures
* UNESCO chief Audrey Azoulay said the 'educational disruption is unparalleled'
* Comes as number infected globally reached more than 95,000, with 3,286 dead
Iran has today ordered all its schools and universities shut until April because of the coronavirus outbreak, with 290million children facing weeks at home in 'unparallelled' closures around the globe.
Health minister Saeed Namaki said classrooms would remain closed until the end of the Persian year on March 19, which is followed by national holidays into April.
'People should not consider this as an opportunity to go travelling,' the minister said. 'They should stay home and take our warnings seriously.
'This virus is highly contagious. It is a serious matter, do not joke about it.'
The UAE earlier became the latest country to close its schools as the worldwide toll of those infected reached more than 95,000 today, including 3,286 deaths.
