* Washington state's governor said that the state's bars and restaurants will be limited to takeout and delivery
* Ohio Gov Mike DeWine also announced the closure of all bars and restaurants throughout state on Sunday
* Illinois Gov J.B. Pritzker said the closure of all of the state's bars and restaurants will begin on Monday
* The closures came after CDC advised officials that large events could contribute to the spread of COVID-19
* Earlier Sunday, New York City's mayor, Bill de Blasio, ordered closure of nation's largest public school district
Large swathes of America are shutting down after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Sunday night advised against holding large gatherings of more than 50 people for at least eight weeks to fight coronavirus.
The recommendations led to four states ordering bars and restaurants to effectively shut - limiting them to take out only - and New York City ordered the same as well as the shutting down of nightclubs, cinemas and theaters.
Washington, Ohio, Illinois and Massachusetts all ordered bars and restaurants to offer take out food only. California has asked all bars to shut and Los Angeles has ordered owners of establishments to shut them down.

Germany apparently developed a working covid-19 test days after the genomic code was published by China. CDC couldn't do it even until end of February and even then their tests remained faulty. THIS is the dangerous thinking of "USA is best/number 1 in everything". Again and again the USA shows it is failing in so many aspects that other nations do without flaw and without bragging. Please, my US friends - push back when a politician tells you this stupid line. Nothing is more dangerous than the leader of the free world not recognising its own weaknesses of which there are so many, from education to credit card debt to an unprepared health care system and a growing income divide. We all benefit from a strong US, but this requires honesty and self reflection, something amiss in today's US culture where a large percentage of the population never set foot into Asia or even Europe. How can you self reflect if you barely know the world. (I know this is a generalisation and have several American friends who have travelled plenty. .but. .a large base in the US still hasn't and it is so important for growth)..just my 2 cents on this topic
CDC had a good COVID 19 test. IT detected COVID19 just fine,
What the CDC did was pack the test kits with tests for other viruses and those additional tests had too much variation. It had too high of false positives.

Well then, we must be safe - to go to stores, restaurants, wherever. Just look at the numbers in China, Iran, Italy, now Spain, and do the math. Time to tuck in and hibernate til this winter passes
