* The number of coronavirus cases in New York jumped to six on Wednesday after the wife, two children and neighbor of a Manhattan attorney tested positive
* One thousand people who may have come into contact with the family have been ordered to self-quarantine
* The attorney remains in intensive care at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Health officials said the attorney has severe pneumonia that potentially put him in more danger than others
* His family and neighbor, who drove him to the hospital, are self-quarantined in their respective homes
* Those being asked to quarantine include members of their synagogue, two students at the son's university, some students at the daughter's Bronx high school, seven law firm employees and eight hospital staff
* In total, 11 people have now died from the COVID-19 coronavirus across the country as the number of confirmed cases has soared to more than 150
* Ten of the deaths have occurred in Washington state while California recorded its first death on Wednesday
* California death was an elderly patient with underlying health conditions who was likely exposed on a cruise ship from San Francisco to Mexico in early February
* Officials in Los Angeles County - which has about 10 million residents - also declared a health emergency on Wednesday after six new cases were confirmed in less than 48 hours, bringing the total in the city to seven

One thousand people who may have come into contact with a New York attorney who infected his family, a neighbor and his friend's family with coronvirus have been ordered to self-quarantine as the number of cases in the state increased to 11.

The US death toll from the COVID-19 coronavirus also rose to 11 on Wednesday as the number of confirmed cases across the country soared to more than 150.

California recorded its first death on Wednesday after an elderly patient with underlying health conditions likely died following exposure on a Princess cruise to Mexico in early February. It is the first coronavirus death outside Washington state where the 10 other patients have died - the majority linked to a nursing home near Seattle.

Health officials in Los Angeles County - which has about 10 million residents - also declared a health emergency on Wednesday after six new cases were confirmed in less than 48 hours, bringing the total in the city to seven and raising the California state case figure to 35.

San Francisco and California will be hit quite hard.. lots of Chinese nationals there, lots of movement between China and the States there..

New York too.. the public transport (subway) will spread it too, plus its more dense than in SF, and got a nice China Town

Next in line are the universities.. Princeton, Havard.. lots of Chinese there

silly to think ONLy places with Chinese...Do you know about Italy and the schools Americans have set up there? Do you know how many Americans visit Italy this past month? Ths stuff in some 80 nations and so not only the Chinese have it, spread it, will get it
