SCMP/AFP: Coronavirus: US could see 2,300 deaths a day, even with social distancing, study says
* Analysis shows fatalities may top 80,000 over next four months, with ‘dramatically’ worse outcome if precautionary measures are relaxed
* Researchers at University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation looked at latest Covid-19 data at local, national and international level
Covid-19 could lead to more than 80,000 deaths in the US and overwhelm hospital capacity nationally as soon as early April even if social distancing measures are respected, new research showed on Thursday.
The US death toll for the pandemic has already soared past 1,000, with 68,000 confirmed infections.
Forecasters at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine analysed the latest Covid-19 data at a local, national and international level.
This included hospitalisation and mortality rates, as well as patient date in terms of age, gender and pre-existing health problems.

WNU Editor: Historically speaking. Pandemics that are highly infectious and very deadly to a segment of the population (like this one) can be very destructive. That is why I have no doubts that the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic is going to kill a lot of people. The only thing that I do not know (nor does anyone else know) is how long will this pandemic continue, and how many people will die. I can only hope and pray that we do not end up like Northern Italy, or go through what Spain is going through right now.

President Donald Trump’s campaign, in a letter on Wednesday, told stations in five battleground states to stop showing the ad from Priorities USA, a political action committee that supports Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Failure to remove the ad “could put your station’s license in jeopardy” before the Federal Communications Commission, the campaign said in the letter. “Your station has an obligation to cease and desist from airing it immediately to comply with FCC licensing requirements.”

The experts that some people crow about want to death panel anyone over age 60. Trump is not an expert, but these doctors, who are 'experts', want to "kill you dead", if you heart flat lines for a couple of seconds. Makes their day easier.
What so going on here?
A) Is it that hard to translate from Chinese?
B) Are the Chinese kits defective
c) Is air travel and altitude, vibration, or cold harming the test kits? I assume these kits came buy plane not slow boat.
