CNBC: Coronavirus tests were delayed by contamination at CDC lab, report says
* A delay by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in quickly making coronavirus test kits available was the result of “a glaring scientific breakdown” at the CDA central lab, The Washington Post reported.
* The Post reported that CDC facilities that assembled the testing kits “violated sound manufacturing practices, resulting in contamination of one of the three test components used in the highly sensitive detection process.”
* James Le Duc, a virologist and former CDC officer who now heads the Galveston National Laboratory in Texas, told The Post that the situation was “really a terrible black mark on the CDC, and the impact was devastating to the country.”
A delay by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in quickly making coronavirus test kits available was the result of “a glaring scientific breakdown” at the CDC’s central lab, The Washington Post reported Saturday, citing scientists and federal regulators.
The Post reported that CDC facilities which assembled the testing kits “violated sound manufacturing practices, resulting in contamination of one of the three test components used in the highly sensitive detection process.”
And while the part of the test that was compromised was not critical to detecting the coronavirus, CDC officials took more than a month to remove it from the test kits, according to The Post.

WNU Editor: When this is all over and an examination is done on what went right and what went wrong, the failure at the CDC will be on the top of the list on what needs to be corrected. My brother works in the bio-tech field and he is always telling me the problems that he has in his lab due to contamination. It was during one of these conversations (7-8 weeks ago) that he warned me about the CDC and the problems that they were having with contamination on their test kits. I still remember that conversation. He told me that the CDC had one job, and they failed! He blames the Trump administration for the CDC becoming dysfunctional, especially on not installing the proper leadership at the CDC when many were warning about this last year. He may have a point, albeit for different reasons. Because from my vantage point the problems at the CDC have been there for a long time, starting with how screwed up their priorities are .... The CDC was Fighting Racism and Obesity Instead of Stopping Epidemics (Frontpage). But like I said. That debate will occur when this is all over.
Update: This list is going to grow with time (see below).
U.S. Top Ten Surprising Consequences of Covid-19 Hysteria:
1: Democrat governors rediscover federalism.
2: Wanna-be totalitarians can’t help but unmask themselves.
3: Trump gets a daily platform to smack the media around (watched by millions).
4: The CDC is exposed as just another dysfunctional gov. agency.
5: FDA, same as above.
6: WHO, same as FDA, CDC.
7: The US media is in China’s pocket.
8: “Models” completely useless except to frighten citizens.
9: We now know Nancy Pelosi has a $24,000.00 fridge.
And the 10th most surprising consequence of the Covid-19 hysteria? Donald Trump was right about China the whole time, and everybody who didn’t know it before knows it now.
Yeah, pretty much. To be honest, I’m kinda jealous of the fridge.

See, President Grandpa is doing super.
It's someone else's fault.
The lost month: Trump says he took ‘strong action’ in February to stop coronavirus. Here’s the full picture.
The president’s announcement that he would suspend payments to the World Health Organization in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic contained a number of false or misleading claims. He faulted the WHO for believing that China was doing a good job and praising its transparency — when he had done the same thing at the time. He claimed the WHO “fought” his decision to impose some restrictions on travel from China, but WHO officials said nothing publicly; opposition to travel restrictions has been a consistent WHO policy.
More than a dozen U.S. researchers, physicians and public health experts, many of them from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, were working full time at the Geneva headquarters of the World Health Organization as the novel coronavirus emerged late last year and transmitted real-time information about its discovery and spread in China to the Trump administration, according to U.S. and international officials.
A number of CDC staffers are regularly detailed to work at WHO in Geneva as part of a rotation that has operated for years. Senior Trump-appointed health officials also consulted regularly at the highest levels with the WHO as the crisis unfolded, the officials said.
The presence of so many U.S. officials undercuts President Trump’s charge that the WHO’s failure to communicate the extent of the threat, born of a desire to protect China, is largely responsible for the rapid spread of the virus in the United States.
The administration has also sharply criticized the Chinese government for withholding information.

As far as I can tell squirrel is anti-religious or anti-Christian. Squirrel is a no good bigot and one of the dumbest people a person could ever meet.
So given the tack history of liberals, who are into dog,s cats, children and anything else., people need money to compensate them for the liberal shitstorm they attract. Now I bet Guilfoyle based on her training as a lawyer, rubbing shoulder with conservatives and liberal news people at Fox (yes there are liberals at Fox, can consult for a campaign. The other one I don't know about.
So squirrel all you do, day and day out is confirm to me that you are just a really dumb person. A really dumb person with know friends.
I had a grandparent die at age 94. They had outlived, so many people that their friends were in their 70s. At the time it was not unusual to see people in the 70s or even 80s working construction. It is that terribly bad place called fly over country that squirrels hate. It is what they did. Work construction, go the diner for a coffee, and socialize for an hour. No internet. No NSFW. Just real honest work and real honest friendship. I bet squirrel makes a lot of friends on the internet.
It is amazing to know people 70 years old can roof a 4 story church with a roof with a 70 degree slope. It is unbelievable. But they did it.
That was then. Now we have squirrels with the NSFW addictions.
8. models are used by the president's staff at the tv announcements
Models are still have human input. People can say they are being on the up and up, but they know their models well enough that they can tweak the input enough to get the results they want.
Trump cannot call out the 'doctor' out on it, but other will in the future. Psychologists engage in "p hacking" all the time. It is so bad and so prevalent that psychology is going through a crisis. Stuff that they said they had proven they have had to retract. Even when they are not lying, they have had to retract results decades later. Psychologists are social scientist. If they as scientist engage in bad practices, so can other scientists.
If you read science mags instead of just skimming an interesting story or two every day, you would know that at least 2% of scientific studies across the board are fraudulent. It might be worse than that. So what is the point? The point is just because they are a scientist does not mean that they are honest or good. Trump cannot directly challenge the "good" doctor presently, but this is by no means over.
A lot of scientist and engineers use models. The understand the the in and outs of models. There are hundreds of thousands of not a few million people that challenge Fauci on his modeling., Look for it int he future. In politics, when you see the enemy, you often have to grin and shake hands. Fauci is still there, but I would not count on him in the future.
Lastly, take you head out of your ass. Get some fresh air. I know you save on grocery bills, but you got want to take a dump some time.
