Warzone/The Drive: Hawaii Air National Guard F-22s, KC-135, And C-17 Do The "Elephant Walk" In Honolulu
Behold an amazing display of the Hawaii Air National Guard's resident airpower.
The 154th Wing based at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam put on one heck of a display of organic airpower on April 21st, 2020. Eight F-22A Raptors from the 199th Fighter Squadron, a C-17A from the 204th Airlift Squadron, and a KC-135R from the 203rd Air Refueling Squadron, all resident units, executed a stunning 'elephant walk' on one of the runways at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).
Aviation photographer and Instagrammer Chris Amendola was there to capture the unique event.

WNU Editor: Elephant walks are always great for PR.

WNU.. I somewhat agree, the F22s are impressive.. but I counted less than 10.. that is less than impressive if you compare it to elephant walks of some other nations. Numbers do matter. It's not all about training and slight (if any) technological edge.
Sure, in total NATO is a force hard to beat - neither by China, Russia or both combined. But, we never do a "full on" NATO elephant walk. That would be hundreds/thousands of planes. THAT would send a message of deterrence. Chinese people think they can outmatch us on the battle field. They really believe it. Showing our true strength could help them to understand there is no victory, at best death for both sides, at worst quite a humiliation for Chinese if they keep following Xi's leadership.
