President Trump: Decision To Reopen Country Is The 'Biggest Of My Life'

The Hill: Trump calls decision on reopening US the biggest of his life

President Trump on Friday described the decision on when and how to reopen the country as the most difficult one he’s had to make in his life, underscoring the careful line he is walking between concerns about the economy and public health during the coronavirus outbreak.

“I don’t know that I’ve had a bigger decision. But I’m going to surround myself with the greatest minds. Not only the greatest minds, but the greatest minds in numerous different businesses, including the business of politics and reason,” Trump told reporters at a White House press briefing.

“And we’re going to make a decision, and hopefully it’s going to be the right decision,” he continued. “I will say this. I want to get it open as soon as we can.”

WNU Editor: This will definitely be the biggest decision in his life. Opening too soon may result in thousands of more deaths. Delaying the economy will also be catastrophe, potentially throwing millions out of work permanently, with all of the human costs and suffering that it will produce.

He has to err on the side of opening the economy. We simply don't have a choice. Thankfully the influences of Fauci, Birx, and the CDC seem to be being lessened now.

Once the economy is opened, those who are most vulnerable to this disease should likely consider quarantining themselves for about a month or so. The rest of us will develop herd immunity minimizing the spread of the disease. Maybe this approach will work. Maybe it won't. I pray that it does. In any event, the current quasi economic shutdown cannot continue. It's worse than the disease.

"I'm sure he'll choose wisely!" Actually I think he will. Other interests besides the CDC and the mad scientists are being brought in to help chart a way forward.

"He's very smart and cares about the world outside of himself." He does and this is great. It's a vast improvement over the narsicist of Obama.

"Everything is gonna be great America!" It was before the goons of CDC and the mad scientists shut down whole segments of our economy. The tax cuts and regulatory reforms pushed by Trump were the catalyst enabling us to have th4 greatest economy we've ever had. Then along came the CDC goons and their mad scientist leaders who took it all away!!

Now they're yapping that we can't start the economy to soon. After all Trump might benefit from a successful economy. They can't have that!! People are hurting!! You hurt them!! God forbid Trump might possibly get some small benefit!! Please put the partisan politics aside especially now!!
