President Donald Trump proposed unorthodox new treatments for the coronavirus at Thursday's White House press briefing – including injecting cleaning agents in the body and use of ultraviolet lights.
Trump, who studied finance and real estate but touts his gut instincts about medical and scientific issues, brought up possible treatments at Thursday's White House press briefing.
Trump asked William Bryan, a senior Homeland Security science and technology advisor: 'Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light? And I think you said, that hasn't been checked but you're going to test it.
'And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you're going to test that too. Sounds interesting.'

WNU Editor: When you listen to what President Trump actually said (see above video), he is openly speculating on treatments and the need for more research from what he had learned in a earlier briefing. He is definitely not advocating that people should go out and inject themselves with disinfectant. But the media narrative is painting a different story (again).
Update #1: While President Trump is openly speculating on treatments, they are some who are now admitting that they use disinfectants on their body .... Chris Cuomo's wife Cristina is mocked for saying she bathed in CLOROX to treat coronavirus while the CNN host slams Trump's suggestion people could be infected with disinfectant (Daily Mail).

Update #3: I think the media and everyone else is missing a bigger story from yesterday's Covid-19 briefing. I watch these briefings every day, and this was the first time that I have seen President Trump look really tired. This pandemic has killed tens of thousands of American lives, and the subsequent lock-down has destroyed in five weeks an incredibly booming U.S. economy resulting in the loss of 26 million jobs. For any leader who cares about his people and nation, that is a terrible burden to carry, and President Trump is beginning to show it.

Trump made a mistake. Big Deal. As Bill O'Reilly pointed out today on the Glenn Beck show, when you hold daily press conferences longer than the movie "The Ten Commandments" you will mess up every now and then.
You learn in quality control courses that there is no perfect process. The president messed up. He is tired. Do not look for him to repeat the Clorox mistake. He won't. Do look for Joe Biden to not remember how many granddaughters again and again and again.
We use UV light to disinfect barber equipment. If you see a Barber or beautician, who does not have a UV sterilizer and barbicide, RUN!

Interesting comment about Trump looking fatigued. That is exactly what I thought. He should get some R&R. All soldiers do that. But I doubt he will. The worst mistake Trump made was allowing these people and their teams to assume total control over our response to COVID-19 and it was compounded by the fact that these people and their teams had no oversight. We should have opted for the Swedish model as our response.
Lock downs and shelter in place orders may have limited utility in preventing medical facilities from becoming over burdened. Except perhaps in very limited areas this was never going to happen. This didn't prevent some health care professionals from shaking down the tax payers for more money and power by using hysterical fear mongering. From the start we couldn't question the "experts." To do so was deemed comparable to blasphemy and would invite the most vile and vicious attacks on anyone who did. Like people in other groups healthcare professionals will lie in order to acquire more money and power.
When extraordinary claims are made, extraordinary evidence needs to be supplied. It wasn't. Even if the policies put in place by Fauci and Birx are fully discontinued today, the death toll resulting from them over the next few years will likely exceed the 2.2 million deaths they predicted had we done nothing. Hopefully someday they will be brought to justice for what they've done. Their teams should face justice as well. "I was only following orders" typically hasn't been a good defense.
