The Hill: Coronavirus patients are testing positive after recovery
South Korea reported Monday at least 116 patients who had been cleared of the virus tested positive again
* South Korea health officials say the virus may have been reactivated rather than patients becoming reinfected.
* The World Health Organization (WHO) is investigating the incidents.
* It’s not clear why the patients tested positive after testing negative.
South Korea reported Monday that at least 116 people who were believed to have recovered from the novel coronavirus have tested positive for the virus again, according to Reuters.
South Korea said last week that dozens of patients who had been cleared of COVID-19 and were being prepared for discharge tested positive. Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) has said rather than being reinfected, patients may be suffering from a “reactivated” coronavirus, Reuters reports.

WNU Editor: If true, this is a nightmare scenario. If the virus can be ‘reactivated’.... it means that like HIV or herpes this virus can remain in the body and flare up in the future, unwittingly infecting those who come in contact with the "cured" person.

Is this unusual behaviour? Just asking. I had not considered it until now, which makes me feel extremely stupid for not asking it before (Probably because I do not question more of what I read although I question quite a bit.). Herpes, HIV and other viruses hide. Is there something special about them that allows them to do this or do many classes of viruses do this and we never knew, because we never before have had the ability or desire to repetitively test?
These people tested poz again. But were they more resilient to a flare up the 2nd time around? There is no reason in that case to get hung about it.
This is nothing new, people who have the flu can get it again as well, deceptive article.
Reporters deceiving people? Nothing new.
