SCMP: Chinese and US militaries on Covid-19 alert in Djibouti as rivals face common threat
* Both countries act to pre-empt any outbreaks at strategically important bases in the African nation
* Measures imposed at China’s only overseas base and the US’ largest African installation
The spread of the coronavirus in Djibouti has prompted both the United States and China to tighten precautions at their military bases in the East African nation to prevent outbreaks among troops.
Military installations housing US forces in Djibouti were placed under “precautionary” public health emergency measures on Thursday, while China is also stepping up precautions against any emergency in its first overseas military base.
China started operating its Djibouti base – which it calls a logistics support hub – in 2017.
“Health declarations are now required for personnel in Djibouti,” a source close to the Chinese military said, adding that the base had ventilators.

WNU Editor: For both countries to declare this medical emergency at their bases in Djibouti is an indication to me on how bad the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic is becoming in the Horn of Africa.

COVID-19 has killed at least 3,540 residents of New York’s nursing homes and adult care facilities as of Wednesday, according to the most recent state Health Department data.

"Overlord Cuomo is killing people..." "governor Bloody Hands..." These have bern my thoughts exactly!! This incompetent boob has no business leading anything. Yet he has an 87% approval rating or so I've been told. Residents of NY must be a masochistic bunch!! They've allowed their liberty to be trampled on for safety that hasn't even materialized and yet they come back for more!!
In contrast, in Houston, TX near where I live an official ordered all citizens in to wear masks in public for 30 days or face a $1,000 fine. The head of the police union called this "draconian." Knowing the power of unions what this essentially is HPD is essentially being told to generally NOT enforce this edict!! There are still some people who aren't so willing to trash our hard won liberties in servitude of the purveyors of our wanna be jailers.
Another apt name for the governor of NY would be "Mario the public tyrant." States such as GA, TN, SC, and TX are going to be the ones to lead the way and SD has been a true beacon of light and leadership through all of this.

As the governor's record is indefensible and you cannot do so, you resort to the slur of "troll shit."
NY accounts about half of the new cases today. The governor's draconian policies aren't working. Meanwhile governors in states like GA are showing real leadership.
