Boris Johnson was last night moved to intensive care after his coronavirus condition worsened, forcing him to temporarily delegate his responsibilities while he is treated by doctors.

The Prime Minister was transferred to the ICU at St Thomas' Hospital in London at 7pm yesterday - 11 days after testing positive for the deadly disease.

Only two hours earlier, Downing Street were insisting he was still spearheading the government's coronavirus response, despite de facto deputy Dominic Raab chairing the morning crisis meeting.

Yet shortly after the Foreign Secretary left the Number 10 podium following the daily 5pm press briefing, Mr Johnson suffered breathing problems and was given oxygen.

Trump has become an avid promoter of the drug from the White House podium. “What really do we have to lose?” he told reporters over the weekend. “It is a very strong, powerful medicine. It does not kill people. We have some very good results and some very good tests,” he added, glossing over concerns from some of his own officials, who fear that the evidence of the drug’s efficacy is anecdotal at best.

The nation’s top infectious-disease expert, Anthony Fauci, has repeatedly warned in public and private that no definitive evidence exists about the drug. Behind the scenes, career health officials have raised even stronger warnings about the risk to some Americans’ heart health and other complications, but been warned not to publicly speak out and potentially contradict Trump, said two officials.

Queuing theory is the study of congestion and waiting in line. The theory can help with creating an efficient and cost-effective workflow, allowing the user to improve traffic flow. Queuing theory assesses two key aspects—customer arrival at the facility and service requirements.

It amazes me that a science that got its start 15 years before a dude was born, a science that has been around for 100 years, and it is totally foreign to a dude.

‘Trump Has Never Lied’: New Press Secretary’s Long History of Bullshit and Lies
Justin BaragonaContributing Editor
8-10 minutes

After just 10 months on the job, and without holding a single press briefing, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham left her post to rejoin First Lady Melania Trump’s staff, opening up the position to former cable-news pundit and current Trump campaign flack Kayleigh McEnany.

The 31-year-old has experienced something of a meteoric rise within MAGA ranks over the past four years. After interning for Republican politicians and working on Mike Huckabee’s Fox News show, McEnany burst onto the public scene as a pro-Trump CNN commentator during the 2016 election. Her unwavering support for Trump and commitment to defending any and every position he took resulted in her gig as the Republican National Committee’s national spokesperson in August 2017 (following a one-day turn as a Trump TV host). And in February 2019, she moved up to the Trump campaign, serving as its national press secretary.

McEnany’s predecessor notably didn’t hold a single press briefing during her tenure but did make dozens of appearances on Trump-friendly Fox News, a habit the new press secretary will almost assuredly continue. If history is any indication, McEnany will be comfortable in the role of appearing regularly on Fox and occasionally getting into bizarro battles with CNN hosts.

Behold, some of McEnany’s greatest hits:
‘We Will Not See Diseases Like Coronavirus Come Here’

Weeks before the United States saw more than 360,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and the U.S. death toll topped 10,000, McEnany confidently declared that the virus would not hit our shores.

Appearing on Trish Regan’s Fox Business show in late February—Regan was later axed by the network after calling the disease an “impeachment scam”—McEnany lauded the president’s partial Chinese travel ban as having stopped the threat of a pandemic in the U.S.

Because of the travel restrictions, “we will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here,” she exclaimed. “And isn’t it refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of President Obama."

McEnany’s assertion that Americans needn’t worry about the spread of COVID-19 came on the same day that Trump’s chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow now-infamously declared that the outbreak was “contained” in the U.S.

Donald Trump Has Stake In Hydroxychloroquine Drugmaker: Report
The president has repeatedly touted the anti-malaria drug as a coronavirus treatment despite a lack of medical evidence.
headshot
By Ron Dicker

President Donald Trump reportedly owns a stake in a company that produces hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug he has repeatedly touted as a coronavirus treatment even though his experts say there’s no strong evidence it works.

Trump “has a small personal financial interest” in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine, The New York Times reported Monday.

In addition, Sanofi’s largest shareholders include a mutual fund company run by major Republican donor Ken Fisher, the paper said. Trump’s three family trusts, as of last year, each had investments in a mutual fund whose largest holding was Sanofi, according to the Times. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross also had ties to the drugmaker, the Times reported.

Trump’s “assertiveness” in promoting the drug contrary to the recommendation of top health experts “has raised questions about his motives,” the Times noted.

The financial news site MarketWatch and The Washington Post later estimated Trump’s stake to be worth between about $100 and $1,500, though the Post noted his trusts may have amassed other investments since his most recent disclosure. “He does look to have more than that modest sum invested in Sanofi, because, unmentioned in the Times report, his trusts also hold broader European stock-market index funds,” MarketWatch pointed out.

A chorus of Trump supporters with no medical expertise have backed the president’s urging of doctors to treat COVID-19 patients with the drug, including his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and Fox News host Sean Hannity.

In the face of warnings from top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci that the drug’s safety and effectiveness are uncertain in treating COVID-19, Trump has continued to laud its supposed benefits.

“What do you have to lose?” he asked at a press briefing this week urging those sick with the virus to take the drug.

Turns out plenty.

“There could be deaths,” American Medical Association President Dr. Patrice Harris said. “This is a new virus, and so we should not be promoting any medication or drug for any disease that has not been proven and approved by the FDA.”

Generic drugmakers also are gearing up to produce hydroxychloroquine pills. One of those companies was co-founded by Trump golfing buddy Chirag Patel, according to the Times.

The White House didn’t immediately answer HuffPost’s request for comment.

John Dillard, a spokesperson for Fisher Investments, called the Times article a “false report” and said Sanofi “is neither a material holding of Fisher Investments nor of Ken Fisher personally.” He also took issue with the characterization of his boss as a Republican donor, saying Fisher also had contributed to Democrats in the past.

I will say this for Mr. Baragona. He has more real world experience and common sense than Frederick.

"Since you're fascinated by stock why don't you talk about your portfolio? It would make very interesting reading don't you think?"

I could be wrong, but what I know of squirrel is that he is a follower not a doer. He goes with the flow. He's said so.

Whatever the university system or the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) offered, he chose form that. I do not know that squirrel is an AAUP member, but I give it greater than a 30% chance, since he is a follower not a thinker. He is the type of fella that, if the herd goes over the cliff, he goes with them.

Why read up on the squirrel. He posted under his real name and his posts were and are real doozies. You think no one could be so dim. So you look and the only thing I can conclude is that he is a follower, not an original thinker, and not that bright.

That is my opinion of the squirrel.

And sometimes I think that maybe some partisan liberal hack could be posting under a person's name, who has ceased to have a web presence. Because like I have said in so many words, the lights are on, but no one is home. How do you explain that?
