Zero Hedge: This Is Where The World Is On The "Corona Curve" At This Moment
Two weeks ago, we wrote that with 1.7 billion people in the world under quarantine (a number which has since ballooned to over 3 billion) and "desperate to find out where on the coronavirus "curve" they are to calculate how much more pain there is, JPM made an attempt at a (very nonscientific) visual representation of where on the curve the main covid outbreaks in the world currently stand." Additionally, this is how we laid out the good/not so good/bad news as of March 24:
* The good news, China has is now well into the recovery phase, although since any and every number out of China is a lie, we would ignore any reports that the covid pandemic in China is easing especially after a spate of recent indications that China is openly manipulating its infection numbers. Also good news: Korea is almost "over the hump", and absent new clusters emerging in the next few days, should be in recovery.
* The not so good news: both Italy and Iran are in the "late accumulation" phase. If they fail to halt the breakout at this point as the recovery phase approaches, it will get very ugly as much of the local population could then be infected. Behind Italy and Iran is the rest of Europe, with Spain, Germany, France, the UK all in the acceleration phase. The onus in on them to execute successful lockdowns.
* Finally, the bad news: both the US and India are at the very start of the curve and things will get much uglier in the coming weeks before they get better.
Long story, short, this is what the global "corona curve" looked as of March 24.

Just to remember what happened - we are so easy to forget
1. Around mid November a virus originated in Wuhan, China - likely jumping from an animal to human, likely in one of the wet markets (see previous outbreaks, also see SARS was originating in China, so this is not new)
2. China locks down entire Wuhan and arrests the Chinese Doctor who tried to warn us all - he died of the virus. RIP. True Hero to warn us!
3. China then misinformed the World, leading many countries to believe it wasn't that bad. I myself, when I saw the initial numbers reported of only 3k dead in Wuhan was like "oh this isn't much worse than the flu".. BUT, I only thought so because China did not tell us it was in fact more likely 40,000 dead, not 3,000! They under-reported the deadliness of this pandemic more than 10-fold! Risking all of our lives. No nation will be spared of this. No human will be spared of this. Chinese leadership endangered your life, my life, your friends' lives, your family's lives, your colleagues and neighbors lives. RECKLESS! CRIMINAL! They endanger all of China, all of the World, every human being is suffering from this now and for a long time to come. If there are no consequences for this recklessness, malpractice, including at the WHO, then we have lost the fight for freedom and democracy. This is the red line. This far - no further!
4. Then the lies and misinformation continued.. Claiming it was the US, almost provoking a war - more recklessness.. Then the faulty test kits and equipment was sent. To Italy. To Spain. Masked as gifts to promote Chinese business, while worsening our situations around the globe. These faulty Chinese test kits were not gifts, they made things worse, letting us think people tested negative when they were positive, continuing to spread this deadly disease for which you have to take responsibility. There is no avoiding this.
5. Now China is continuing to lie, we must not let this happen. If we do not show them that this has gone far enough - firs trillions in theft ignoring copyrights, IP rights, patents and on and on, manipulating their currency, claiming "developing world" status; this is a nation that has been preparing for war against us and has conducted cultural warfare for years against the West. On top industrial espionage in San Francisco, all of Silicon Valley, Washington D.C. etc. And our ruler class makes it easier to study and work in the US than for the founding countries (the European nations). This is beyond grotesque. It shows you you are being sold out.
