The death toll from COVID-19 currently stands at just over 270,000 with that number sure to rise substantially before the pandemic is finally over. But perhaps an even more horrifying fallout from the pandemic is the “tsunami of hate and xenophobia, scapegoating and scare-mongering” it’s leaving in its wake, according to United Nations chief António Guterres.
And the sad thing is, humanity has no one but ourselves to blame for that.
As Guterres notes (via NBCDFW) since the pandemic began raging across the world, virtually no group has been free from persecution relating to it. “Migrants and refugees have been vilified as a source of the virus—and then denied access to medical treatment,” Guterres points out. Meanwhile, “anti-foreigner sentiment has surged online and in the streets, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories have spread, and COVID-19-related anti-Muslim attacks have occurred.”

WNU editor: I am disappointed with these remarks from UN Secretary General António Guterres. Instead of focusing on the World Health Organization's failures in stopping this disastrous pandemic, and what needs to be done to make sure this not happen again. He instead wants to focus on a "tsunami of hate and xenophobia". What tsunami? I would say that at this moment in time 99.99% of humanity is more concerned about not getting sick, their loved ones not getting sick, their jobs, and making sure that they can meet their needs and the needs of their family. Unless of course what Secretary António Guterres really is saying is for people like President Trump to not call this virus the Wuhan coronavirus, and to not hold China accountable for what they have done.

Good little globalist puppet spewing just the sort of propaganda garbage the UN has always excelled at: anything but the actual truth. Trump should send them packing to China. Then when his SECOND TERM is over, he could buy the UN headquarters building and turn it into a hotel.
Hatred and xenophobia have been building up for quite some time. It, however has little to do with the current pandemic and more to do with the extremely divisive narratives pushed by the msm in recent years and globalist policies. I expect these sentiments to escalate.
The UN is a dysfunctional and partisan organization which accomplishes nothing. It now belongs to China, apparently, and to Saudi Arabia. Western nations should leave the organization, and allow it to go the way of the World League into the dustbin of history. As for China, let the west prepare for the war which is coming.
