Business Insider: The US and China are on the brink of a new Cold War that could devastate the global economy
* The US and China have entered the beginnings of a new Cold War in the coronavirus era, experts say.
* "We're essentially in the beginnings of a Cold War," the director of the Center on US-China Relations at the Asia Society told Insider, warning of "grave" consequences for the global economy.
* "For the international system as a whole, a Cold War would be devastating," the director for Asia studies at the Council on Foreign Relations told Insider, adding that it could "force countries to choose a side."
The relationship between the US and China was already teetering close to the edge of a cliff before COVID-19, but the pandemic pushed it right off.
The dynamic between Beijing and Washington has become so contentious in the coronavirus era that China experts now say the two major powers have stumbled into the early days of a new Cold War that could prolong the pandemic, exacerbate the economic devastation linked to the virus, and weaken the world's ability to thwart common threats.
"We're essentially in the beginnings of a Cold War," Orville Schell, the director of the Center on US-China Relations at the Asia Society, told Insider. "We are on a downward slide into something increasingly adversarial with China."

I am asked a lot recently: Will a war break out between China and the US? My answer: The two countries increasingly dislike each other, various conflicts are rising, therefore, risk for a military clash is increasing. But meanwhile, they both don't want a war. At the BRINK of a cold war?
For all we know, we are already in a war -- there are nearly 100,000 dead people in the USA now. From a virus originating in China -- likely from the Wuhan bioresearch lab. This is what German, US, UK and other intel agencies agree on. The virus was sent to us without any regard for our lives. How is this not an act of war against the entire World?
I do not care if corona virus came from China. I don't.
It is not like it is unexpected.
First, China has one seventh of the world population. If we were using the uniform distribution to model where diseases that affect people pop up, I would expect 1 out 7 new diseases or disease strain to come from China.
Second, has part of it that are tropical or subtropical.
"Species richness is greatest in tropical ecosystems. Tropical rain forests on land and coral reefs in marine systems are among the most biologically diverse ecosystems on Earth and have become the focus of popular attention."
If a disease emerges from the tropical or subtropical belt it doesn't alarm me. It must be dealt with, but it is not unexpected.
The 6 week delay and the lies that WHO told on China's behalf, no amount of spin or glibness will get around that unless you are in a room full of loons/Leftists.
That last sentence is true. Just read a story about a white male and a noose. Normally, that dooms a person, but the person, who made the noose was special. Among the most of the Left, you can spin anything.
