The Justice Department has released a mostly-unredacted version of a memo outlining the scope of former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
The memo penned by then-acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in August 2017 has long been sought by Republicans who believed it would reveal that Mueller and his team exceeded their authority by probing members of President Donald Trump's campaign team.
The DOJ on Wednesday provided a less redacted version of the memo to Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, who requested it earlier this week.

After reading this memo, or at least the parts that are not redacted, it is clear to me that there was never any substance to Trump-Russian collusion claims that dominated the Washington news cycle for almost two years. To put it bluntly. It was just an excuse to launch an investigation in the hope that it may implicate/trap the US President.
