Bloomberg: Trump Says He Doesn’t Want to Talk to Xi as China Tensions Rise
* President muses about severing trade ties with China
* Trump says U.S. is looking at Chinese companies on exchanges
President Donald Trump said he doesn’t want to talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping right now and mused about eliminating the largest trading relationship in the world, with tensions high over the coronavirus outbreak.
Asked in a Fox Business Network interview whether he had spoken to Xi recently, Trump said that they have “a very good relationship” but “right now, I don’t want to speak to him. I don’t want to speak to him.”
Unprompted, he said that “we could cut off the whole relationship. If we did, what would happen? You’d save $500 billion,” an inaccurate reference to the volume of trade between the countries.
Trump has sought to blame China for the coronavirus pandemic as public confidence in his handling of the U.S. outbreak has sunk. Emperor for life. Told you. Life can be short in China
If world leaders delegitimise Xi - who is already a weak leader in China, with many thinking he's not too bright-anything can happen. Trump knows this, so he makes Xi sweat.
Xi is in a very very very bad spot. It's been going downhill for China since Trump got into office. The contrast of two china's couldn't be stronger..
Before 2016: China was on its course to take over the world and our media helped them (especially cnn which I still hope will be investigated - together with our deep state)
After 2016- entire industries are leaving, alliances in the APAC are forming, and now one more bad move by China and it could well be that they implode. They ate deep deep in debt-much more than we in the west know because their market data is so fake, their housing market is absolutely bubbleicious
I said here many times over China is done and now guess what. ..
Hey little parrot, seems I called it again. My nick name is the blonde oracle. Should have told you long ago.
