The Hill: Vice News lays off 55 US employees and 100 globally
Vice News laid off 55 employees in the U.S. and 100 internationally, the media company confirmed to The Hill.
“I want you to know that we’ve done absolutely everything that we could to protect these positions for as long as possible, and your time and contributions will forever be part of who we are and who we will become,” Vice CEO Nancy Duboc said in an email to staff Friday.
The Vice News union tweeted Friday morning that it hoped management would consider alternatives to layoffs or furloughs.

Good. I would say they can rot in hell, but they're already there.
It doesn't help them that they pretend to be"news" but are in fact super market "tabloid" trash. Also, online media sources are killing them.
kill all but NY Post
When I saw the headline, I didn't understand, after all in terms of interest in their product, times have never been better. After all they get to preen about the "pandemic" and all things anti-Trump. Large audiences lap this up. It seems they've never had it better!!
"It seems" are the operative words. Unfortunately for them part of their business model depends on ad revenue and many of the companies who buy ads have been hurt by the shutdown that they enthusiastically support and can no longer afford to buy ads leading to them being downsized!!
What did those stupid effers expect? It is Maslow's hierarchy of needs. You need food, clothing shelter, before you need a news subscription.
If people are laid off or fired, they are not going to be flush with cash and spend it on a newspaper.
You are suppose to take ~ 30 semester hours of humanities electives with the purported goal of making a college grad well rounded. It begs the question.
1) Do the journalist take psychology or economics in college as an elective?
2) Do they retain any knowledge or do they dump it into the proverbial trash can on the way out of the class room after finishing the final exam?
3) Do they learn at all in college classes or are student propagandize in humanities classes?
*4*) Do colleges measure how well rounded college students are, when they are forced by graduation requirements to take 30 semester hours?
30 semester hours is 2 semesters or 1 year.
"Our researchers found that the average cost of college for the 2017–2018 school year was $20,770 for public schools (in-state) and $46,950 for nonprofit private schools, only including tuition, fees, and room and board. Each year, school costs have continued to increase, even accounting for inflation."

Should there be research into if college are turning out idiots for journalism school grads?
If you do not know, why paste all that shit?
if yes, who should do it? who fund it? who now oversees it?
Clerky,
What do your questions have to do with the comment?
I find the NY Sun to be a very impressively written producer of opinions in their opinion section. They know our country's constitution.
