New York Times: Michael Pack, Chief of Media Agency, Dismisses Heads of U.S. News Outlets
WASHINGTON — A conservative filmmaker who recently took over a United States global media agency removed the chiefs of four news organizations under its purview on Wednesday night, according to people with knowledge of the decision, in an action that raises questions about their editorial independence.
The filmmaker, Michael Pack, also dismissed the head of a technology group and disbanded the bipartisan board that helps oversee and advise those five organizations. He replaced its members largely with Trump administration political appointees, including himself as chairman. One board member works for a conservative advocacy organization, Liberty Counsel Action.

WNU Editor: The organizations that are affected are Radio Free Asia, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Office of Cuba Broadcasting, and Open Technology Fund. These firing would have happened years ago but Obama people were squatting.

"It wasn’t immediately clear why VOA Director Amanda Bennett and Deputy Director Sandy Sugawara submitted their resignations. In a memo to staff on Monday, they jointly wrote,
“It is time for us to leave,”
but cited no specific reason other than the arrival of Michael Pack, a Trump appointee who will head the U.S. Agency for Global Media, which oversees VOA. Pack is an ally of Stephen K. Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist."
