U.S. Chairman Of The Joint Chiefs Of Staff Mark Milley Warns That 'Divisiveness Leads To Defeat'

CNN: Top general warns that 'divisiveness leads to defeat' as Pentagon concerns over politicization grow

(CNN)America's most senior general warned that "divisiveness leads to defeat" in a speech to Naval War College graduates on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley counseled the audience to "eliminate anything that divides us."

While he also spoke of the traditional need to keep an eye on adversaries "during periods when we are weary from conflict or otherwise preoccupied," and did not mention President Donald Trump by name, his comments appeared to address the broader backdrop of racial divisiveness in the country and concerns within the Pentagon about the military becoming politicized.

Milley told the students, "We who wear the cloth of our nation must hold dear the principle of an apolitical military that is so deeply rooted in the very essence of our Republic."

WNU Editor: And who is causing this "divisiveness"? And what is even more disturbing is the following remark .... "eliminate anything that divides us." The General does not say, but one can speculate on who he is sending that message to. For a General who leaks to the media that he is concerned about the politicization of the military, he is getting more and more political everyday.

Used to be, the Generals kept their mouth shut. However, I guess through history Generals have said things, I am more interested in the fact that this is a CNN story used to help push the narrative that we should somehow get rid of Trump. Is CNN using this to their advantage? Is this General playing the Left, Middle or Right!? Will have to watch the entire speech.

At university I use to spend a lot of time in the Foreign Languages Building on campus. Across the street was the African American Cultural Center. One thing that I noticed was that many, many Black students ran into the the center almost as if they were under fire. I thought it was funny. It certainly was odd. Maybe it was like some Greek or pleb hazing ritual. I should have taken it seriously.

On the quad the black fraternity would once a semester or year go through a dance ritual in front of everyone. Point is they segregated themselves decades ago.

I gotta wonder how man black-white marriages resulted for students mixing at the university compared to people from India or Asia. If it was fewer than for the latter groups, I think it has to be due to the Balkanization promoted by liberals.

My experiences watching or interacting with the Left on campus gives me then knowledge to know that armchair Milley is full of shit.

This was decades ago.

This General needs to be retired--now!

Milley was about to be shut out of the flag officers boys club. So he changed his tune. Or more correctly found the “correct” one.

Just another swamp creature.

Unfortunately it is doubtful he means end the 'systemic racism' that permeates US. Naturally it over simplifies the problem blaming the racist President. This started over systemic police racism not the president. Lest we forget.

I apologize. The second reference to the President should have been capitalized. I'm a former US Marine. I saluted whom ever was on the wall. I am also white. That said I'm not stupid enough to believe we are all equal in my country.

Yes, Discrimination is alive in well.

"A former senior executive at Infosys has accused Indian software major Infosys of a racist bias that favours Indian techies over others.

Erin Green, who worked at Infosys’s Texas office from October 2011 to July 2016, has alleged that his former employer tilted the scales too far towards Indians in its 200,000-strong workforce in the US."

Then there was the Bakke decision. They guy who replaced Bakke killed some of his clients due to ineptitude. Reverse discrimination is grand.

Affirmative action turns lives into tragedies
