The Hill: Trump confirms 2018 US cyberattack on Russian troll farm

President Trump on Friday confirmed for the first time that the U.S. launched a cyberattack on the Russian Internet Research Agency (IRA) in 2018.

Trump confirmed the attack in a two-part interview with The Washington Post’s Marc Thiessen. When asked whether the U.S. had launched an attack on the IRA — a troll farm that led the effort to spread disinformation around the 2016 presidential election and 2018 midterm elections — Trump said that was “correct.”

The cyberattack, first reported by The Washington Post in 2019 but not confirmed publicly by the Trump administration, involved U.S. Cyber Command disrupting internet access for the building in St. Petersburg that houses the IRA on the night of the U.S. 2018 midterm elections, halting efforts to spread disinformation as Americans went to the polls.

rding to former special counsel Robert MuellerRobert (Bob) MuellerCNN's Toobin warns McCabe is in 'perilous condition' with emboldened Trump CNN anchor rips Trump over Stone while evoking Clinton-Lynch tarmac meeting The Hill's 12:30 Report: New Hampshire fallout MORE and the Senate Intelligence Committee, Russian agents targeted election infrastructure in all 50 states, successfully accessing voter registration databases in Illinois and Florida, though there is no evidence any votes were changed.

The Russian-backed IRA also launched a sweeping disinformation campaign beginning in 2014 designed to “sow discord” and sway the election toward Trump in 2016, according to Mueller. Facebook later estimated that up to 150 million users based in the U.S. were exposed to IRA posts ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

The IRA is financed by Yevgeny Prigozhin, who has been dubbed “Putin’s chef” by Russian media due to his catering company being used by the Kremlin on several occasions. Prigozhin was sanctioned by the Treasury Department last year, and indicted by Mueller in 2018, alongside the IRA itself and a dozen other Russian individuals, for interfering in the 2016 U.S. elections.

In fact, Mr. Trump has often questioned the evidence that Russia was involved at all in trying to influence the 2016 election, and regularly calls the investigations into possible Russian connections with his campaign part of the “Russia Hoax.”

But in recent days, he has come under new pressure to demonstrate his distance from Russia and President Vladimir V. Putin.

The revelation that in February he had been warned that Russia was likely offering bounties to Afghan militants for killing American troops, but did nothing in response, has created a firestorm of criticism that he was protecting Mr. Putin, not American troops.

Trump Financial Regulator Quietly Shelved Discrimination Probes Into Bank of America and Other Lenders

More than 1,000 current employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have signed a letter calling for the federal agency to address "ongoing and recurring acts of racism and discrimination" against Black employees, NPR has learned.

In the letter, addressed to CDC Director Robert Redfield and dated June 30, the authors put their call for change in the context of the coronavirus pandemic's disproportionate impact on Black people and the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and Rayshard Brooks. NPR obtained a copy of the letter, which is published below.

"In light of the recent calls for justice across this country and around the world, we, as dedicated public health professionals, can no longer stay silent to the widespread acts of racism and discrimination within CDC that are, in fact, undermining the agency's core mission," the letter reads.

Hillary hireling Chrissy Steale lost a court case and has to pay out $45,000 in damages and even more in legal fees.

The case pertains the the dossier that Chrissy ginned up for HRC and the FBI. With that development and the fact that the Russians did not get the DNC emails is clearing the way for Roger Stone to be exonerated.

What 12:13/12:14 was hoping was that Roger Stone would die in prison of COVID and forever be tarred with appellation of convict. Does prof Ditz know that, if you die in the midst of appealing a sentence, the sentence is vacated?

The DNC hack was an inside job as shown by downlaod speds.

One of the principles of Crowdstrike, President Shawn Henry ( "We just don’t have the evidence ..."), admitted under oath that Crowdstrike had no proof the Russians were behind it.

"CrowdStrike, the private cyber-security firm that first accused Russia of hacking Democratic Party emails and served as a critical source for U.S. intelligence officials in the years-long Trump-Russia probe, acknowledged to Congress more than two years ago that it had no concrete evidence that Russian hackers stole emails from the Democratic National Committee’s server."

So why is Roger Stone being prosecuted?

"Another means of having a vacated judgment would be if the defendant dies prior to all appeals being exhausted"

I was dreading a pardon for Roger Stone. The Democrats wanted it. They wanted to score political points. Democrats were not interested in justice.

This is the best of all possible worlds going forward given that the Democrats placed us in a shithole.

Democrats were hoping that Stone would die in prison or they would score political points with a pardon ahead of the election. They saw it is a damned if you do and damned if you don't for Republicans. Trump took the 3rd option and Democrats are upset, pissed, and scared. Their conviction could be undone and undone with prejudice. It is very possible that their chicanery will be recognized by all.

Weissman might be scared. He might be going to jail.

Why is Phred still pushing the DNC hack lie?

Oh that is easy. PhreD is a partisan hack.

Declassified footnotes also show the bureau was aware Steele’s source network might have been compromised by Russian disinformation."

President Donald Trump went after Fox News Monday, complaining 'their contributors are a disaster'
--Ratings, a fixation of Trump's before he captured the White House, were featured in another media related tweet the president fired off Monday.
--He retweeted a clip from White House official Dan Scavino, an assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for communications. The clip of a Biden speech is in black and white, with old fashioned piano music in the background and edited to look like it was played on an antiquated film projector.
--'Is this what you want for your President??? With no ratings, media will go down along with our great USA!' Trump wrote of Biden, 77. Trump is 74.Trump has spent days inveighing against 'cancel culture' and defending attempts to take down monuments or rename institutions.
--He has also gone after the network over polling, after it reported on public polls that have him down an average of 9 points behind Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden.
--He also has repeatedly sought to pump up conservative outlets seeking to position themselves as a Fox alternative such as One America News Network, whose ratings pale in comparison to the cable giant with a stable of conservative commentators.
--Trump's ire at the network is at odds with some of his other posts, including a pinned tweet where Fox co-host Jesse Waters defends his controversial pardon of Roger Stone, who was convicted of witness tampering and lying to Congress.

Parrot cannot defend Ms. Christopher Steele, so he craps out a MSM headline data dump.

I would point out that parrot wants Roger Stone, but totally ignores Seth Rich. Parrot wants all information sealed on Seth Rich's murder, where the murderer did not take the

watch
wallet
cell phone

I guess murder is okay, if it advances or supports the cause.
