Moscow Times: Russia's Naval Fleet Goes on Display in Annual Parade

Russia held its annual Navy Day commemorations in St. Petersburg on Sunday with a parade that showed off the country’s best ships, nuclear submarines and naval aviation.

The parade took place as President Vladimir Putin has boasted of the Navy's growing capabilities and amid ongoing tensions with NATO.

Here's a look at the nautical display on the waters of the Neva:

The concept of "social distancing" is an arbitrary one that a bureaucrat put forth. Even more ridiculous is the "six feet" term. When we are outside, the wind will disperse the virus and studies indicate it does not like sunshine so a need to "social distance" when we are outdoors is basically silly. The virus appears to spread best indoors when people are in close quarters. Unfortunately if we are indoors with an infected person there probably is no amount of "social distancing" that is going to stop the spread of the virus.

Russia's daily new case numbers have averaged between about 5,00 to 6,500 for the last month or so. Such a virtually identical number day after day after day in a situation such as this would be virtually impossible to achieve unless the numbers are being manipulated. I hypothesize that the Russian leadership wants to send the message that the threat is still real but make it appear as though they have it under control. If the domestic situation suggests that a "spike" in cases is needed or if a dramatic drop is needed, either one is very easy to achieve.

As I have stated before COVID-19 is a gift to power mad government officials. From this perspective, it might just make sense for someone like Putin or other other Russian leaders to keep the threat alive. Send the message that it is real, as it is, but make sure to appear to have it under control. With this situation it is easy for contact tracers to approach undesirables, tell them they've been exposed and need to be tested, test them, have the results come back positive, quarantine them, and make them disappear with the cause of death reported as COVID-19. Such obvious manipulation of the numbers by the Russian government suggests shenanigans are going on. Perhaps this is the purpose of the shenanigans.

In America the political calculations are a bit different. The idea is to manipulate the numbers in such a way as to show both total cases and total deaths as being artificially high so as to make POTUS look bad with the goal of influencing the election. To this end, part of the goal is to keep the economy closed as much as possible in order to pin the blame for the economic damage on POTUS as well. Off topic but where this fails use the storm troopers of the rioters and looters to destroy things and try and pin the blame on POTUS. Also, where and when necessary try and start a culture war and blame it on POTUS.

With regards to COVID-19 a reasonable place to start would be to get the reporting and policy making on this completely out of the hands of the CDC and people like Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx. Once these evil and incompetent people are removed we can finally begin to make progress.
