Business Insider: 'Bring us American heads': Iran flaunted bounties on US troops in propaganda leaflets

* The US's military and intelligence agencies knew about Iranian bounties on American troops for years.

* Iranian-linked forces flaunted the payments through leaflets distributed throughout Afghanistan, a former senior US official with direct knowledge of this propaganda told Insider.

* "They weren't hiding it: 'If you bring us American heads, we will pay you,'" the official told Insider.

* The official said that these payment offers were known during the Obama administration and that US officials had been "sitting on this for years." The Trump administration apparently did not act on reports about attacks linked to the payments in 2019 during its peace negotiations with the Taliban.

The US's military and intelligence agencies knew about Iranian bounties on American lives for years, as Iranian-linked forces flaunted them through leaflets scattered throughout Afghanistan, a military source with direct knowledge of the matter told Insider.

Propaganda leaflets, similar to the ones the US distributed throughout Syria and Iraq, were distributed to Afghans by Iranian-linked forces who were "ramping up efforts and started to escalate into violence" amid President Barack Obama's troop withdrawal in 2016, the former senior US official told Insider.

Iran has long relied on proxy forces to wage war against enemies like the US, exacting a heavy toll on US troops in Iraq. Iran has been suspected of having ties to the Taliban-affiliated guerilla group the Haqqani network.

The leaflets that were posted in the country said that American and coalition forces' heads were wanted in exchange for cash bounties, and Iran was "claiming responsibility," the former official said.

WNU Editor: Iran supported militias in Iraq to wage war against the U.S. presence there. So why not Afghanistan. What is inexcusable is that the US government kept this information hidden from the American public for years.

OBAMA AND THE MEDIA MADE A GREAT TEAM AT HIDING THIS FOR 8 YEARS.

The bounties should not be a surprise, acknowledgement or not. They are something I would expect.

4 fucking years and trump did nothing!

Genius,

When did 3.6 to 3.7 years become 4?

Why should Trump change the status quo, when it had already been going on for 8 years or more. On top of which if you make it public what would the American public support?

An Iranian Desert Fox?

Gulf War III?

You say something must be done, but provide no clues to what you would do other than to froth fulminate and dribble.

Much safer to criticize than to offer an alternative that can be criticized and perhaps be judge inferior to what is already happening.

Iran has probably been offering bounties since 2001 and the Swamp form Foggy Bottom to the Pentagon to Langley to Capital have done naught about it. You would not have their scalps, but just Trumps.

I think you are just a dribbler without a bib that fears Trump will be re-elected, so you are throwing everything up against the wall in hopes of something...

Agreed. Until you can use it on your political foe

Bipartisan Senate Intel report details Trump campaign contacts with Russia in 2016, adding to Mueller findings

"dummy! I never said something should be done"

Why did this report on the Iranians come out? My guess is that a deep state Democrats wanted to try to have another go at damaging Trump, since the Russian bounty story did not damage him or damage him enough in their opinion. My 2nd guess is that it could be the Trump administration fighting back showing what the previous 2 administrations did or did not do in 15 years.

At any rate is was a fucking ass Democrat politician or a fucking ass Democrat partisan in the federal government that first brought these stories to light. Hundreds or thousands of people knew, but in the last 6 to 9 months before an election, they set it before the public for partisan advantage.

Trump is not Bush. He fights back. So, if the Democrats wants to bring it on, Trump says "Bring it" He does not let Democrats bring pots shots at him without him firing back and you just hate that don't you boy.

"There was a good reason why this stuff not made public. But you assholes must blame Obama"

If there was a good reason to not make it public, the why did the demo-crats of the ass-crat party publish it in the 1st place?

Trump's Claim Of A New Zealand Surge Is 'Patently Wrong,' Ardern Says : Coronavirus Live Updates : NPR

For 4 cases of Corona Jacinda Arderrrrrrrrrr shut down the entire country of 5 million people.

New Zealand has had 22 deaths. The labor bitch is lock down a country causing loss of economic activity and increasing death by other means for the next few years to come for no good reason.

Below is a very good article that is useful now and will be useful a 1,000 years from now.

How to use ventilation and air filtration to prevent the spread of coronavirus indoors

I would suggest former retired read it, but that would be cruel and unusual punishment as former retired is functionally illiterate.

It really caught my eye that in Taiwan they sopped TB outbreak through the proper use of HVAC.

It think other people will greatly appreciate and be greatly edified by reading the linked article.

President Trump’s 2016 campaign chairman posed a “grave counterintelligence threat” due to his interaction with people close to the Kremlin, according to a bipartisan Senate report released Tuesday that found extensive contacts between key campaign advisers and officials affiliated with Moscow’s government and intelligence services.

In its report, the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee states that Trump’s then-campaign chair Paul Manafort worked with a Russian intelligence officer “on narratives that sought to undermine evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election,” including the idea that purported Ukrainian election interference was of greater concern.

It found that a Russian attorney who met with Manafort, along with the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and his son-in-law Jared Kushner at Trump Tower in 2016, had “significant connections” to the Kremlin. The information she offered them was also “part of a broader influence operation targeting the United States that was coordinated, at least in part with elements of the Russian government,” the report stated.

Manafort worked and in hand with Podesta. Manafort was prosecuted; Podesta was not. Podesta was not a threat? Who did Podesta work with?

Meanwhile some unwashed, unmitigated asshole is typing away on his/her/xer computer made up of Chinese parts blissfully unaware of the real world. You got to hand it to the asshole. Being such a jackwagon is hard work.

After SChiff, Klinesmith and other lied about Cater Page and General Flynn I am supposed to believe what a partisan senate says?

Carter Page spied for the CIA and then the FBI under the direction of the corrupt FBI just totally lies and fucks him over.

But former retired is A-Ok with Carter Page being fucked over.

Probably jealous that Carter Page did more intel work in 30 minutes than former retired did in 3 years.

Rubio said the committee’s found “deeply troubling actions taken” by the FBI, “particularly their acceptance and willingness to rely on the ‘Steele Dossier’ without verifying its methodology or sourcing.”

“The committee found that the FBI gave the dossier, authored by ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, ‘unjustified credence, based on an incomplete understanding of Steele’s past reporting record,'” Fox News reported.

According to not so bright people the Steele report is good.

Never mind that not so bright people refuse to admit that Chrissy Steal's source was Igor Danchenko. Igor's source was Democrats.

See how that works? Democrats telling lies.
