China may never “reunify” with Taiwan now that the central government in Beijing has tightened its control over Hong Kong, one strategist said on Monday.
“In a sense, the big price that China’s paying for Hong Kong is actually Taiwan,” David Roche, president and global strategist at consultancy Independent Strategy, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Asia.”
China claims Taiwan as part of its territory and sees the democratic self-ruled island as a runaway province.
The Chinese Communist Party has never governed the island, but has sought to push Taiwan to accept Beijing’s rule under a “one country, two systems” framework.

WNU Editor: I will not say forever. But there is no question in my mind that a majority of the people in Taiwan no longer have any interest to live under China's “one country, two systems” proposal.

There was almost no real price to pay for China. Some sanctions. Please. We get poisoned and our economies get shuttered and nothing happens to them. Talk about embolden a nation that is already hyper militaristic and totalitarian. China will in all likelihood go for Taiwan. No one did aside Trump did anything against China. No one. While they poison us and profiteering of our deaths.
I cannot think of a more humiliating defeat to the West but also any nation that wants to be free.

While a Chinese virus is projected to cost the global economy 12 trillion(!) by end 2021 and those are the "conservative figures", WHILE the single largest transfer of wealth has been occurring before that with theft in intellectual property rights and extortion in the trillions. WHILE millions will have died of direct and indirect causes of the Chinese virus. WHILE they take Hong Kong. WHILE they push unwanted into trains and conduct mass deportations and sterilization programs. While this all goes on, CNN and MSNBC and WAPO and the NY Times lecture you on pronouns, how you shouldn't support Trump and how the flyover states is full of racists. WHILE China has actual concentration camps and kills you.
Talk about losing a war. If we don't even see what's going on, who will react and when? Too few and too late.
