BBC: Alexei Navalny: 'Poisoned' Russian opposition leader in a coma
Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny is unconscious in hospital suffering from suspected poisoning, his spokeswoman has said.
The anti-corruption campaigner fell ill during a flight and the plane made an emergency landing in Omsk, where doctors said he was in a coma and they were trying to save his life.
His team suspects something was put in his tea at an airport cafe.
The Kremlin said that it wished Mr Navalny a "speedy recovery".
Mr Navalny, 44, has for years been among President Vladimir Putin's staunchest critics.
In June he described a vote on constitutional reforms as a "coup" and a "violation of the constitution". The reforms allow Mr Putin to serve another two terms in office, after the four terms he has already had.

WNU Editor: This is bad. Many in Russia are muttering to themselves that President Putin's inner circle is responsible for this.

And who will do the autopsy? Assuming the poison, if any, is traceable.
Disgusting! It's well known that Putin poisons his political opponents. Russia needs to be punished!
Do people outside of Russia really care? The Russians poisoned a Ukrainian PM. Does anyone bring it up?
You could argue that the people who did not make a huge issue of that poisoning are culpable for Navalny's poisoning. Putin learned the same lesson that Hitler learned about the Armenia genocide.
Navalny is lucky. He is (or was) good looking, so people will care more. They might even care enough to do something.
What is it with Russia and poisons?
Does anyone INSIDE Russia care? Bloggers, reporters and other people have been dying a lot over the past 10-20 years and nothing has changed.
Radio station broadcast Navalny's death screams. Lots of people are die. Lots of people are murdered. You take note, but it can be dispassionate. Listening to the scream is hard.
Guarantee, if the Biden wins and Democrats want some so of moral high ground -slash leverage, they will bring this up. Broadcasting the death throes will or would have the intended effect.
Democrats are no better than Putin, but since when that has stopped a cabal of evil people?
I don't know what poison was used. Maybe Navalny knew he was dying and was acting to turn the screws on Putin and that cabal with what little he had to work with. Maybe it hurt that damn much.
The cabal made a mistake. They might get through it.
