U.S. Loses Two MQ-9 Reaper Drones Over Syria

Marines Times: Two US drones collide and crash over Idlib, Syria, defense official says

The U.S. lost two drones over Syria Tuesday after a midair collision, a defense official tells Military Times.

Images of burning aircraft crashing to the ground were posted on Twitter Tuesday. There was speculation that the aircraft were MQ-9 Reapers — a remotely piloted aircraft used predominately as an armed hunter-killer drone, but also capable of surveillance and intelligence collection — and were shot down.

They're not programmed to not crash into things?!

I agree with WNU.

If they have drone pilots, I would think the pilots would be given walking papers.

Still, why would you have more than 1 Drone in a box? unless they are shooting?

Next question was it the Russians, Syrians, Turks or ISIS?

Will the Syrians hold the remains and hostage and will the birthing factory pay ransom? (Good thing there wasn't a pilot!)

Fishy story, indeed. There's a lot of sky out there and these things occupy but a little at a time.
