The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) has a legendary history of bravery and esprit de corps when it comes to defending America’s freedom. From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, the Corps hasn’t shrunk back from meeting any foe of the United States. So it may surprise some to learn that recently the Marines surrendered to a single activist who complained that an instructor at an upcoming seminar on strategy and tactics was a Christian.
The USMC scheduled an annual training for military lawyers earlier this month, at which the Battle of Gettysburg would be discussed. The instructor for one portion of that training was supposed to be Jay Lorenzen, an Air Force veteran who taught for 10 years at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

If the US Marines are frightened of a normal American gentleman, the Red Chinese army will have them running away as fast as their boots will carry them away from the battlefield. Bad leadership = bad troops. Keep ducking 😔
Is there a format for a biographies of speakers? Does the biography format include room for extracurricular activities? If it does and that is Lorenzen's, then do not WEIN about it!
Provided that the extra-curricular activity is legal of course and last I checked practice of religion is.
If Lorenzen preach's during the training give him a verbal warning. Second time give him something written down. Third time kick him out. Religion, where it is not wanted in a professional setting, is or can be tedious.
For training once we studied the book Just and Unjust Wars. If you are going to discuss such a topic often or by necessity you will discuss religion. How do liberals put it? This topic would be the INTERSECTION of religion and war. IT would not be based on a philosophical utilitarian perspective. How many people in their off time read philosophy? < 1% ?
I think we are missing a big point here. What were a bunch of JAG OFFS doing discussing Gettysburg? Looks like a boondoggle to me. Shouldn't they be convening at Andersonville of any of the other POW camps (Union & Confederate), where mortality was high? Or How about Fort Sumter and Secession?
The name Weinstein is interesting. I think it is an interesting sociological artifact. Guy no longer wants to be Jewish, Does not want to be Christian, and is going to replace it with Sundays discussing Das Kapital (or something New Age) like they did in the old Soviet Union?
It is important to remember all the senior officers in place now came up through the field grade ranks during the Obama administration. They tend to be fairly liberal. Vindeman isn’t an anomaly.
