U.S. Senate Report On Russian Interference In The U.S. 2016 Presidential Election Released

Daily Mail: Russia DID interfere in 2016 election, Donald Trump's associates wanted to exploit Kremlin aid and campaign chief Paul Manafort worked with a Moscow spy, Senate Intel committee report reveals - but does NOT conclude there was collusion

* New Senate Intelligence Committee report lays out in 1,000 pages its conclusions about contacts between Trump's campaign and Russia
* Says Paul Manafort was in contact with a Russian spy - Konstantin Kilimnik - throughout his time as campaign chairman
* Says explicitly that Russia interfered in the 2016 election and says Trump's campaign was eager to exploit its aid
* But the report does not conclude there was collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia
* Instead Republicans and Democrats offered their own conclusions with Trump's party saying there was no collusion and Democrats arguing there was
* Also takes aim at the FBI for using the Steele dossier without adequate vetting
* Report also delves into reports of a 'kompromat' tape of Trump and says there is no evidence Russian intel had one
* But it says Kremlin-linked businessman boasted he knew about Trump's 'relationships with women' and hotel executive heard claims of 'elevator tape'

Donald Trump's campaign's interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a 'grave' counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed in a report how associates of the Republican candidate had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin's help.

Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential election on behalf of Trump, and associates of the Republican candidate who were in regular touch with Russians throughout the campaign were eager to benefit from the help, the Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in the fifth and final report in its investigation.

WNU Editor: You can read the US Senate report here .... (link here). I've gone through some of it this morning, and is there anything new in it .... no. Short on details on how Russia influenced the 2016 US election .... i.e. leaked Democrat emails to Wikileaks, but providing no concrete evidence on how they did so. Paul Manafort meeting questionable Russians to help in the campaign. But I say so what. The Clinton campaign went through a former UK intelligence officer who had contacts with Russians to dig up dirt on Trump to help their campaign. Like I said .... nothing new. Just an assessment on what they think happened. The only thing that is noteworthy is the reports conclusion and one that many in the media have chosen to ignore (again) .... no Trump - Russian collusion.

The report also for the first time cites evidence that that alleged operative, Konstantin Kilimnik, may have been directly involved in the Russian plot to break into a Democratic Party computer network and provide plundered files to the anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks. . . .
It offers new proof that former national security adviser Michael Flynn lied about his conversations with the Russia’s ambassador to the United States, raises troubling questions about Manafort’s decision to squander a plea agreement with prosecutors by lying to Mueller’s team, and accuses Blackwater founder Erik Prince of ‘deceptive’ accounts of his meetings with a Russian oligarch in the Seychelles weeks before Trump was sworn into office.

Just as Norman Eisen, former counsel for the House impeachment managers, detailed in his book “A Case for the American People: The United States v. Donald J. Trump,” the intelligence committee report suggests, according to The Post, that there was evidence Trump had lied about discussions concerning Roger Stone and the WikiLeaks release of stolen Democratic emails. “Collusion simply means Trump and those around him wrongly working together with Russia and its satellites, and the fact of that has long been apparent," Eisen told me. “Indeed, it was clear to anyone with eyes from the moment Trump asked, ‘Russia, if you’re listening.’ ” Eisen added, “The Senate report is a valuable contribution advancing our understanding, including explaining former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort’s nexus to Russian intelligence. The report further elucidates our understanding of collusion via WikiLeaks, which acted as a Russian cut-out.”

In addition, the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, with Manafort and Donald Trump Jr. included Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Russian attorney and, according to the report “part of a broader influence operation targeting the United States that was coordinated, at least in part with elements of the Russian government.”

That Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), the acting committee chairman, declared there was no evidence of collusion is belied by the mounds of evidence in the bombshell-filled report. Eisen tweeted, “I said it was collusion at the time and I have not wavered. Every additional piece of evidence that has come in has only proved it more.”

Max Bergmann, who runs the Center for American Progress’s Moscow Project told me, “He did it. He colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.” He added, “The bipartisan report from the Senate Intelligence Committee should erase any lingering doubt that Trump and his campaign deliberately sought out and coordinated with Russia and its influence operations during the election.” Moreover, “the report also demonstrates that the president of the United States is a clear counterintelligence threat to the country. He is not only compromised by his close contact with the Kremlin but he eagerly sought out covert Russian support in 2016.” Bergmann warns that “Trump is certainly willing to cheat again in 2020, and there is no doubt the Kremlin will do what it can to help him.”

They must believe the US public is stupid--they report Russian "interference" in the US election but do not provide any details--beyond the assertion that Russia "interferred" or "meddled" in the election. I guess the US people are just supposed to believe this unsupported assertion.

Is anyone surprised that Fred Lapides copied and splatted a whole news article at 1100 ?

Is anyone surprised that he tried and in this cases succeeded in posting first to give a Republicans bad, Democrats good spin?

"Short on details on how Russia influenced the 2016 US election .... i.e. leaked Democrat emails to Wikileaks, but providing no concrete evidence on how they did so."

The transfer rate for copying the files was too fast to have been done over the internet, It was done using a flash drive, which means it was an inside job.

Putin is a dictator. But I ask you, who is the worse person with whom to negotiate, Putin or the Democrats?

I did not lie about upload speeds. So where is the lie?

Senator Rubio the Senate Chairman saifd there was no collusion but Frederick R. Lapides says there is.

Who you going to believe, a parrot or a Hispanic senator in good standing?

Fred still doing the copying and pasting routine. He does not have words of his own, which is odd for a man who made a career of studying and teaching language.

Assange later tried to strike a deal with President Trump to reveal the “real” source in exchange for assurances Assange would not be prosecuted.

Eventually, Assange established a connection with Stone, who became a conduit to the Trump campaign for information about the WikiLeaks emails and the timing of their release.

But it wasn’t just the Trump campaign that coordinated with WikiLeaks. Russian media outlets RT and Sputnik also promoted the release of the leaked emails.

Assange is a journalist. Wikileaks is a journal.

You, an English prof, would slobber all over Woodward and Bernstein for publishing classified government documents, the Pentagon Papers,

but you you cry foul when DNC dirty laundry is aired?

You could argue that the DNC docs are not govt. docs, but the members of the DNC are in & out of government regularly.

Assange tried to strike a deal with President Trump not candidate Trump. Anyone want to lay money the parrothead loved it when Wikileaks published Iraq War docs?

But publishing DNC docs is beyond the pale!

Bill Clinton pardoned Marc Rich. If pedophile Bill can do that, then Trump can pardon Assange.

Here is my prediction petulant parrot. Trump will pardon Assange, if he loses the election. Then we will get the truth of Democrat Party crimes.

Guys, guys!! Keep your panties on. Throughout history this stuff is very normal. Sorry, I can’t help noticing that 15 posts have been made on this new story which I have not read. Do you really think this is new!? I challenge anyone to rebut my claim here. Calm down.

Collusion is a word that has lost it's sting. It's what politicians and or their supporters do, unfortunately.
Personally I wouldn't recognize either side's claims of Russian interference if I saw the interference.
I will say the dim-o-krats' behavior since just before the evil Trump took office and for years after has forever tainted their credibility. And that, to me, is a precious thing to lose.

I am just sick & tired of someone's Trump colluded Bullshit. The idiot does not even put it in his own words.

Same person is all in for socialism. Well 13% of the Chicago city council is socialist and they are all-in for the looting and defunding the police.

I looked into the biography of one of the BLM spox or leaders. Her name is Ariel Atkins. She is whip smart like AOC. She is a child prodigy at age 24.

She went toi Univ of Texas on scholarship and then went pro with the WNBA. Last fall she hurt her back bending over. There was no sporing season. It is not known of she would have played anyway.

So here she is calling looting as reparations. She got a full ride through college and got signed by a professional sports team and she is still butt hurt. If the WNBA is like football she could have retired after 5 seasons and then went on to a 2nd or 3rd career.

At any rate she should have bachelors to fall back on. Somehow her bachelors is not mention prominently What was it in? Basketweaving?

I wonder why she is into rioting? Maybe because she knows her degree is worthless?

You can call Ariel Atkins a one-off or anecdotal. But when 13% of city council members are socialists and advocate for the shit that they do, you know it is serious.

The mayor of Chicago is in the fight of her life. She realizes there are worse people on the council than her.

What is happening in Chiraq will happen, where you live. It is already happening. You have a crooked DA.

When it benefits Democrats, Democrats are never bothered by how a journalist comes across documents. They could be stolen or given by an disgruntled employee.

Occasionally, a journalist is jailed for a short time for getting hold of government documents, but a Democrat will scream all day long 1st amendment.

Then, when their organizational documents & conspiracies get published by a journalist, they scream.

Usually when documents get published when should be equally or more so concerned what is in them.

Talking about how the documents were obtained is an attempt to keep people from discussing the Democrat scheming and conspiracy that they reveal.

Donald Trump's fawning letters with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin revealed

Anonymous said...

Well what was Trump suppose to write?

Was he suppose to write this?

"I hate your guts. You are a dictator. I am going to do business in your country and you can't do anything about it" - signed The Donald

Why shouldn't Donald Trump do business in Russia in 2008. British Petroleum was doing business there. Many other companies for the West did business there as well.

One could argue that Trump had to do business in Moscow. It is exotic. Merely having beautiful women is not enough.

Some people can spend 1/2 their day looking at naked pictures or picture of women in bikinis. But normal people cannot.

It could argue that Trump has to change the venue every so often for the same reason that the James bond films have to be shot in new locals. If a James Bond film was always shot in Britain, how long do you think the franchise would have lasted. Likewise Trump has to move the venue around to generate interest and buzz.

These business letters were between 2007 and 2013, which is before the Ukraine conflict. The were also during the time of Obama/Hillary Russian Reset.

I suppose, if Trump us bad, then Hillary must be superbad for doing the Russian Reset thing. BP must be bad too.
