Daily Mail: 'I might not see you again, Melania': How Trump kissed his wife goodbye and feared for his life before aborted attempt to visit Kim Jong Un in 2017, Bob Woodward's book 'Rage' claims
* Trump first tried to visit the DMZ in 2017, but had to turn around in bad weather
* Bob Woodward's upcoming book 'Rage' says Trump was worried about the visit
* He said if something was to happen to him, it would be 'the worst thing that could happen to us as a country', according to book set to release on Tuesday
* Trump went on to visit the DMZ and meet Kim Jong-un 18 months later
President Donald Trump 'kissed Melania goodbye' before his first aborted visit to Kim Jong-un and the inter-Korean DMZ in late 2017, fearing that he may not return.
The claim comes in a soon-to-be-released book 'Rage' by the renowned Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward, who interviewed Trump 18 times ahead of its release.
'Rage' claims that Trump believed he might not return from the heavily fortified border, with bad weather eventually forcing him to return to safety and abort the visit.

WNU Editor: A part of me is wondering if President Trump is being over-dramatic when he said he may not come back or when he told Bob Woodward this story .... Trump Told Woodward 'You Don't Know How Close We Were to War' With North Korea (Newsweek). During this time there were concerns that the situation was escalating. But among all my friends and contacts in South Korea and China, I do remember at the time that they all believed and were very confident that it would never escalate to an actual shooting war.

I would be skeptical at taking the reports of POTUS's enemies at face value. I've seen photos and heard stories that would suggest the opposite and that the President and First Lady have a very close and loving relationship as husband and wife. While we cannot "know" without direct knowledge, based upon the prior track records of the critics not being good and other sources that have proven far more reliable who report the opposite of your claim, I would tend to discount those claims.
I do not think Trump was being over dramatic at all here. As for myself and many of us in America, we thought war was inevitable at this time. In September 2017, many of us expected war within six months. As far as the editor's friends in South Korea and China, all I can say is they must have been living in denial.
