I do not see or understands this.
I do know that all drugs come off of patent protection after 20 years. Which means every AIDS drug should be generic now. I would not really think drug prices are an issue except immoral (not unlawful), unlawful practices, and "Me Too" drugs. In the US (& elsewhere in the Western world), we have to discuss how drug makers will exist.
Drugs still will be more expensive than what you get at the vet due to testing and maintaining high standards of purity and thus profits or profit percentages would or should be higher, but drugs that make or break you should be a thing of the past.
If you cede drug making to India and China due to margins, then just hang it up as a country and live under a new order or just walk into the wind on an ice flow until you are too tired to go on like an elderly Eskimo.
